As requested, to go along with the "Penis Research" thread... here is the female counterpart..
Average clitoral size (visible) of a woman: 1/4 to 1 inch
The Clitoris is the only human organ whose sole function is sexual sensation (OH.. us lucky gals)
Percentage of women who require some kind of clitoral stimulation in order to reach a sexual climax: 75%
During sleep, the clitoris appears to gain and lose an erection every 90 minutes, just like a penis.
Average increase in size of the clitoris during sexual arousal: 2X
Average length of time it takes the clitoris to return to normal size following orgasm: 15 seconds
Average speed of vaginal contractions during orgasm: 0.8 seconds
Average number of vaginal contractions during orgasm: 9 (range 3-15)
If pleasing erotic stimulation of the clitoris lasts from 1 to 10 minutes, 40 percent of women will likely have an orgasm. If such stimulation lasts for 20 minutes, 90 percent are likely to enjoy the pleasure of climax (lesson here: Foreplay is GOOD)
Masters & Johnsons published a chart of one woman who experienced a 43 second orgasm consisting of at least 25 successive contractions.
The only other creature on earth to have a hymen is..... a female horse.
Biological function of the hymen? NOTHING
In ancient Greece, aristocratic young girls were often ceremonially deflowered by having their hymens pierced with a stone penis of the god Priapus.

Ah Priapus, the god of permanent erection - should find a few devotees here.
Thanks Jennaflower - great information and raises so many questions for us uneducated males. I hope that you and others will be willing to answer them.
I have a few
Does anyone know whether the size of the clitoris bears any relationship to the pleasure it creates or the ability to have an orgasm.
Can a woman have an orgasm whilst the clitoris is unerect?
So - you boys who worry about size - get your fingers and tongues in training - learn to control (to a degree) your ejaculation and realise that the most important part of your anatomy during intercourse may often your pubic bone. Then go for it.

as to your question... my book states that there is no relationship between the size of a womans clitoris and the pleasure she experiences. :) Thank goodness... cuz on a personal note.... mine is VERY small...

Masters & Johnson did a lot of good science but from what I've read they always considered the G&ASpots a myth - something that couldn't be proven.
Pick up any sex advice book in Indigo or Chapters and they barely touch on G&A's and if they do it sounds like they're describing the lost city of the Olmecs or something.
Clits are wonnerful li'll tings but LORDY let's have some stats on G&ASpots, gurl. It seems like 90% of couples are missing out on bunches MORE pleasure and 100% more orgasms.

I wasn't knockin Jenna's work. Truly fascinating. I must admit that of ALL the clits I've known in my life I NEVER thought of getting out a measuring tape and making notes. Not the most romantic thing you could do when you're THAT close to a clit is download the dimensions for your coloured barchart on the 'ol MAC, huh? Just SOOO glad somebody else took the time (probably a government GRANT too) to bring us these facts in a book. Imean somebody had to pay CLOSE attention to determine a clit averages 2X enlargement during arousal. CLOSE! Silly me. All I've ever noticed about a clit (any clit) was that they get hard as a pencil eraser just before they orgasm - hey...why wasn't the hardness quotient included in the book. This is also important stuff - maybe another bar chart showing relative hardness during stages of arousal...we could use the diamond scale of hardness.
There is a LOOONG thread on G & A Spots at :
http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70892
Also a small entry under ""the TECHNIQUE"" in this very room. Ya never know
what useless information you can learn by reading these posts, huh?
The ""Percentage of women who require some kind of clitoral stimulation in order to reach a sexual climax: 75% ""
THAT is kinda why I asked for a similar posting on G&ASpots. There just doesn't seem to be the same research regarding that so that's Jenna's NEXT assignment.
Don't let us DOWN , gurl.
