Dead Body Question(Burial,cremation,etc.?)

My wife&I have discussed this a few times.Disreguarding religous,
legal,Govt. laws;what would be your wish;in reguard to your dead body?I was brought up Catholic;so I think that my wish is
against religion but so is molesting children;so here goes.I have
always told my wife to cremate;my body;slowly pour my ashes in
the gas tank;of my motorcycle;and blow me all over.I won't care;

My boyfriend always thought the idea of a Viking funeral would be cool...although hes not a viking. youre put on a boat and sent out into the ocean and then an archer sends a flaming arrow your way and you burn on the boat and eventually sink and stuff. sounds like a nice way to go...
me...i cant imagine being buried....ick...so i guess creamation for me...and my ashes...well dont really know yet....ill get back to ya!!

well, my artist gets my skin, by his request. wants to stretch it over lampshades and into picture frames n shit. whoever needs whatever organs can have em, for whatever reason. although i can't imagine why anybody'd want a set of lungs that look like crumpled trash bags. my skeleton goes to my furry angel, or if he's no longer around, whatever dog might be in my life at the time. all that's left is muscle and sinew. *shrug* burn it, toss it in a field, feed it to the fish, donate what's left to a necropheliac society... what have ya. it's just a body.

Due to my beliefs, I will be cremated and then spread over the nearest forest. That way no one can have part of me left. I refuse to donate my organs, no matter how useful they might be, but what they do to the ones they can not use iwill not abide with.

And kimmer, your b/f is refering to a celtic burial. The viking funeral has a lot of singing, drinking, and usually the wife climbs aboard the ship with her late husband and all of his weapons and armor. They then set teh ship ablaze and let the sea claim what is left.

Cremation for me. I always think that it is a waste of land when you see all the untended cemetries. The picture postcard image of an English church surrounded by its well tended graveyard still exists in some places, but in two many cases people are buried and their graves forgotten about about by the family.

sounds like the general feel here is to go to ashes... same plan here as I have never liked the idea of being in the ground pretty much forever. These days they require that you be drained, filled with some sort of stuff, and then the casket has to be put in a cement liner so that the decomposition does not leach into the ground. There is no way to go from "earth to earth" anymore it would seem (at least not without having someone just bury ya in the woods ;)) so it is "ashes to ashes" for me...

I'd want to be cremated..however I'm afraid that when the casket with me enters the oven, the whole darn building will go up due to the amount of alcohol in the sytem. On the serious side though...I'd want to be placed in the family plot.

My body is a vessel...I am only borrowing it....I have no thoughts or feelings when I am gone......take what you need...if you can use ANYTHING......use it....then take my body to a college or school to experiment with it as you will. Learn all you can from all the mistakes I made....(ie; Drugs, etc) and use it till I rot! Don't worry about a burial...I want no traditional ceremony....I want only for my family and friends to gather once and remember all the fun "WE" have had. Talk to one another and tell of the obscure and obvious times!!!!!!....Be happy and celebrate my life.....NOT my death!!!!!

Well it's cremation for me, but my Mum, well she wants to be buried and a tree planted on top of her coffin, well ok not a tree but a sapling...not sure if that can be done in the UK....but she's really keen on it.
