My dad once said "you will never know how proud you make me."

It is always great to hear that people are impressed with my kids' manners and behavior. That is the best!!... ususally in the form of...."how do you get them to be sooo good?"

In real life-
Some years back when I went to work with a small company and the owner handed me a handful of blank, signed checks to “have in your travels”, (was doing used machinery shopping) I asked about his accounting procedures. He told me “however you want to do it.” and that “Dr. xxxxxx had said I can be trusted with a bag of uncounted money for 10 years.”

In the bedroom-
“I want to nail that door closed.”

I long ago realised that;I do not appreciate a compliment;the way
that;I should. You name it and I have been complimented on it.I
take it for granted!I have come to realise;that I am a perfectionist;Nothing that I do is good enough;for me.By the way;
it's a pain in the ass;to others;when you are a perfectionist.If I
wasn't complimented;I would probably;wonder;what I had done wrong! Irish

I think the greatest compliment I have ever received was from my wonderful mother-in-law. She told me that I was a wonderful wife to her son, and also that she considered me a very good mother to my 3 boys. :)

well, i was just told last night that if my friend were rich, he'd pay me to hang out with him. that i was just that likeable. course, he then offered to blow me in lieu of reimbursement for a loan, so...

My S/O has given me zillions of compliments, both sweet and funny, but i think one of the funniest and most flattering at the same time was when he recently said:

"you're just so awesome, every time I'm with you, I feel like I'm f*cking a porn star" :D

Some how Sadora always says exactly what I would have said lol

My mom always says she is happy seeing what her son has become..from a kid playing in the streets to a military man defending the country :)

It is nice to hear other parents talk good about your kids when they refer to their own lol Something to be very proud of.

YOU SOUND JUST LIKE MY SISTER AND MYSELF!!! Total over achievers .. Especially in school- We believe "IF you can get an "A" why settle for a "B"... we consider a mark of "C" as failing, where anyone else would be happy they passed. I've gotten to the point where I get a papaer back and I see "A" and it doesnt phase me... I see "C" and I want to cry. a Mark of "B" is middle ground... happy I passed but a bit dissapointed I didnt get the "A"...

Best compliment though.... I duno... maybe when the new beau looks at me an randomly says "you're awesome" or "You Rock" (his way of sayin he likes me hehe so cute)... Or over the summer we spent the week at a beach house w/ a bunch of our friends... the girls were all gettin dressed to go out one night and one commented on mah arse bein small... an said "you're like the perfect girl"... hehe (when I told my beau he was datin the perfect girl he said "I KNOW") hehe :-D

I don't take compliments all too well.........but there are two that still cut straight to my heart when I think of them.........

No matter where I was on New Year's eve.......at the stroke of midnight I would call my mother and wish her a Happy New Year (as I knew she would be alone, but still awake.....and we never missed a year from the time I can remember in saying it as it was happening) and my boyfriend's mother caught me doing this once....and when I explained why I did it, she said, "That is the sweetest gesture I've ever known anyone to do. I wish my children were so considerate!"

And......the fact that my sister named her daughter (of her twin boy and girl) after me. She said she hoped my personality would rub off on my namesake!

One of the best compliment someone ever gave me wasn't even verbalized. I had a long and painful miscarriage last fall. One of my bosses, who is more so my friend, was there for me, and I appreciated it greatly. Around the time I found out that I would lose the baby, she found out she was pregnant with her first. Even though she knew the difficult time I was having, I was the first non-family member she told--even before her best friend. I knew that was a tough decision for her, but it meant a tremendous amount to me that I was at the top of her list.

The best compliment I recall ever receiving was......It's a boy...and he's got all of his fingers and toes.
