OK, here is one for you all. Which TV show has the best theme music?

I have to go for the 'Dr Who' Theme. And if you want to hear a new take on it, look for the version done by Orbital. WOW!

Being this long in the tooth, I’ve heard too many TV theme scores to pick a best. As for uniquely identifiable TV music, I have to say the theme for The Twilight Zone does it for me.

I agree with Magnum and Mission impossible, but what about a classic one like Kojak? And several years ago there was one called policedoctor Simon Lark or so, and I also like the one of Quincy. And that police TV show with William Shatner, J. P. Hooker or something like that, all great!
And I have some great titlemusic of cinema films in my mind: James Bond: live and let die (of the Wings), Buck Rogers, Star Wars, Rocky,... endless! :)

I don't watch Leno so I don't know if they still use the same theme music or not. Doc and the Orchestra were great with that theme though! :thumb:

I always thought the theme tune for Air Wolf was great. I don't think I could even sing it now, but I'd know it if I heard it and I loved it when I was a kid.

Other memorable theme music for me, would be from British shows like Morse and (another favourite when I was a kid) Button Moon.

^ Composed by Paul Anka, in case anyone cares...

I've never caught Leno from the beginning to hear what music he uses, but I'm betting he changed that too...he pretty much started from scratch when he took over, acting like the previous 29 years never happened...

Speaking of talk show themes, I always thought Letterman's theme music was a smoking tune, especially the version Paul & The World's Most Dangerous Band used to play during the "Late Night" years at NBC...During one of Bill Murray's many appearances on the show, he got up & sang his own words to the theme song, funny stuff...

I & several others mentioned the "Perry Mason" theme in this thread, I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed the kitty litter ad on tv where the cat has a bloodhound come in the house to help him find his litter box? The background music sounds to me like someone playing the "Perry" theme backwards...my guess is they wanted the music but couldn't get the clearance (or wouldn't pay the royalties)...
