How do you guys and gals get brave enough to actually post pics of yourselves?

Dear lord, I made an attempt a little while ago and I must say, I'm just not...well, what? ready??

its easy. i was a bit nervous when i first posted pics but after i had posted i got a good response.

every-one here is so wonderful i dont think anyone would give you a negative response.

I saw your post RandyGal, and a nice post it was! If you're not ready to post more, that's okay... do what you're comfortable with and I think if you hang around a bit more you'll get a lot more comfortable here. I've posted lots of pics and enjoyed lots and lots of pics from others... we're a very appreciate group here, but we want you to be at ease! So do whatever makes you happy... :) :D

Courage comes for a whiskey flask. Just give yourself time to get accustomed to posting pics, don't start out doing it all at once. Work your way to more revealing pics if you want to go in that direction.

There wasn't anything wrong with the pic you posted! I applaud you for your courage! I'm not ready to take that leap of faith yet.
For one thing, I don't have a digital camera so cannot do any of the more "daring" types of pics. Another thing, my scanner isn't operational since I got the new 'puter with XP on it. So now I either wait for HP to come out with new software for my scanner or I buy a new scanner. And lastly, if I *did* want to send any "naughty" pics, the only ones I have are mucho old! Like maybe from when I was 17 or so....and believe me what was daring in '67 ain't daring in '02! LOL!! Besides, why post a picture and ruin so many fantasies???:D :D :D :D

I never ever EVER thought I would take pictures like that of myself and while they aren't exactly nasty for ME they are risque'.

Don't know that I'm ready to take "that" kind of pictures of myself even if I did have a digital camera...plus it's awfully difficult to take pix like that by yourself. My dh (dear husband) doesn't know about Pixies and I certainly can't ask my 26 yo son to take them...Eeewwwww...NO WAY!!!!:redghost:

ok looks like you deleted the pics. I just want to say that I was VERY shy before i posted here too. And now i feel so much better about my body. I dont feel so gross.. and when I dont get to do my make-up in the morning it no longer sents my mood down.. I just feel overall prettier.

RandyGal, allow me to extend a belated welcome to the Pixies' family --- this is the most supportive and genuinely caring group of people I've met anywhere on the Internet, and from what I've seen of your posts so far you're going to fit in here wonderfully.

I totally understand the nervousness about posting --- when I first posted I was checking back every two or three minutes to see how many downloads there had been and whether anyone had commented. Now, though, there's still an adrenaline rush when I post, but it's more a thrill of anticipation and excitement knowing that the image(s) will bring pleasure to other people, rather than a nervousness about whether the pic(s) will be accepted. (When I posted my face for the first time I went through the whole anxiety thing again, as those who talked me through it here well know, but even that has subsided.)

I'm like Sarriah too in that posting here really has made a major difference in how I feel about my body. I no longer feel like it's something that ought to be camouflaged, and I find it easier to accept compliments in real life as well as on here because I've had such positive reinforcement from so many people. The feedback here has made me feel sexy in a way I never really thought I would, and that feeling spills over into everyday life, putting that much more bounce and confidence into my every step.

Ultimately, the decision about what and when to post is yours and yours alone. With the warmth and wit that your words have displayed, RandyGal, you've already won the hearts of many of us in the Pixies' family, and we would have welcomed you for who you are whether or not you had ever decided to post pics.

What I realized after posting my own pics here was that the act of sharing them changed how I felt about myself far more than it changed how anyone here felt about me. It was that realization that allowed me not only to continue posting, but to post more and more revealing pics, until finally I posted the series that left me feeling the most naked of all, the ones with my face unmasked.

I'll get off the soapbox now...

I want to jump into every thread but I am so often silly that I'm holding back a bit. Am certainly enjoying myself here and it feels so very comfortable compared to what/where I'm coming from.

I am greatly impressed by the kind remarks people have had about my pics and about other peoples pictures.
What an awesome bunch of accepting people and I really am thrilled to be here.

I'm still kicking myself for not jumping in months ago when I first started visiting. :)
