HALLOWEEN
A chill has descended on the earth
The moon has turned blood red,
The witches brew their evil spells,
Thoughts are of the dead.
Sorcerers wave their magic wands
While goblins roam the lanes,
Colors turn to orange and black,
Is everyone insane?
Amidst this scene of awful terror,
Candy sells out fast.
Costumes of all shapes and kinds,
Suggest the kids will have a blast.
Cards with silly, scary verse,
Crowd the racks in every store,
And does anyone want this to stop …
No, they just keep yelling, “MORE!”
Now some consider Halloween
A time of fervent prayer,
While many think of it as play,
And are happy with every “scare.”
There are of course, the pixie folks,
Who take a different tack,
They pull the shades and dim the lights,
And soon are in the sack.
For them the term Trick or Treat,
Has a very special place,
Where two warm bodies join as one,
And are locked in warm embrace.
Now that’s a plan for Halloween
That I think we can enjoy,
Sex and fondling and probing lips,
And perhaps a humming toy.
It may not scare as kids imagine,
Or fill small sacks with candy …
But in the broader scheme of things,
We think that’s just quite dandy.
(I know it's a bit early but with the temps falling into the 40s tonight and the leaves starting to come down, I just felt in the mood to write a little Halloween poem ... so I'll share it now. :D )
PS BOO!
