The Mars Rover called Curiosity has detected that the soil on Mars contains about 2% water. The link is to the article. Very interesting I thought.

Yes, it can be extracted, but it's not actually currently in a form that can sustain earth-like life on Mars.

I'm waiting for them to discover Guinness before I get really excited.

This is a little like the fact that there is possibly a billion dollars worth of gold in the sandstone of the Sydney Basin here in Oz. There is maybe a thousandth of an ounce per ton, hopelessly uneconomic.
