fer fuck's sake. Somebody talk about guns, politics, religion, or some such shit.
It has been too long since I got to dust off the old whip :p
You can have my politics when you pry my religion from my cold dead gun!

Seek and ye shall find …
Noting that an increase in the number of guns in the US has occurred with a drop in the number of firearm-related homicides, South Dakota has enacted a law allowing school districts to arm teachers and other school staff (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-21722377).
The number of firearms in the U.S. has increased from 192 million in 1994 to 310 million in 2009. There are now about as many guns in the U.S. as there are people. At the same time, the number of firearm-related homicides fell from 17,073 in 1993 to 9,903 in 2011. Per capita, the gun-related murder rate has dropped by more than 50 percent over the past two decades.
These statistics may be found in “Gun Control Legislation (http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/RL32842.pdf)”, a report of the Congressional Research Service, on pages 8 & 9/10 respectively.
The second link will open a new window for the PDF, but the file – in contrast to the data within – is quite safe.

Did I hear Lilith ask if we had pistols in our pockets?
Do you think we ought to tell her we're just glad to see her?

I didn't hear too many complaints when we gave Lil the cold, limp, bullet-riddled corpse of a evil paper clown.

Did you hear that Illinois now has a two term limit for governors? One in the office and the second in the state prison. Seems like the state prison has become the retirement village for former governors.

That reminds me of the slang often used in North Carolina for ex-governors: Inmate.

ha ha. You guys slay me.
No guns or clowns for me, even the bullet riddled kind.
I do like the pocket pistols that prove you are happy to see me. I think I will start a thread in mens to ask for that :p

I'm still looking for a poster I once saw which had a Mae West-esque figure on the ground in a pool of blood. "That was a gun in your pocket."

I'm still in favor of my original idea about guns & hunting.
Real men don't need a gun to hunt with. A real man would be out there running through the woods barefoot & wearing a loin cloth, hunting with a broadsword. Going after a bear with a sword...now THAT'S a man! :D

I don't know, I've never yet seen a bear who knew how to use a broadsword.

From the same people that brought you the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the Salem Witch Trials.
Really? This (http://www.myfoxny.com/story/22114444/clergy-jumping-into-ny-mixed-martial-arts-fight)is where you draw the line?

No, I more usually draw line son paper. Using a pencil. Sometimes, I draw lines on my computer screen, using a graphics program.

Violence is becoming more acceptable in our society.
Religious intolerance, violence and jingoistic fervour . . . welcome back to the dark ages.
