This morning, I happen to notice I had "many" email delivery failures. I didn't open these, but instead checked to see what I had "sent". So happens these came from an IP address that was not mine (188 173 113 29) in Romania and were sent when I was still sound asleep and my computer was turned off ... which suggessts somehow whoever they are got access to my Contact List.

DO NOT OPEN any emails from me today. I have no idea what's there, but I would hate to have a virus pop up on your machine. I did send a follow-up email to everyone advising against opening ... but I thought this might be an even better place to pass the warning!

Sorry for this. I have my antivirus program turned on and I thought it would catch access like this but I must have been mistaken!

Thanks ... DB

Thanks DB.

That message about paying back the $20,000 you owe me was a fake?

No worries. People in this day and age should be tech savvy enough to know what does and does not look legit.

And the hacky peeps should burn in hell.

Not the same hell I promised to WildIrish :hot:

I have discovered that, in fact, it was the case that someone (in Romania) had my "Call List" to send whatever it was they sent. I've deleted my old call list and changed my email password. Also, I've informed friends (didn't think of this until a bit later) that I would include in the email "topic" something like "from a fellow Pixie" or "from myname" because hacking my address list wouldn't tell them the info contained on email's I've sent out. So ... don't open any from me unless they have that simple little addition confirming it's really from me.

A few people have my email address but I now no longer have yours. If you don't mind, maybe you can send me an email with your address to include in my new call list. If you'd rather not, I understand.

Oh yeah, I have run a full virus scan and it detected no virus on my machine so you should be safe from me. :)

OF, go ahead, you're welcome to that $20K ... I never accept gifts like that from Romania unless they're at my door with small unmarked bills in their hands. :D

They must be trying to get rid of their Liu ahead of the 2015 move to the Euro.

That addition of the personal message in the subject line is a good idea. That's how I know to click on the legitimate notes.

Like the one I got from my Nigerian banker requesting a copy of my passport. :p

I'm a dickwad who gets his jollies fucking up Lilith's forum by posting fucky little spam all over the place. I have such a tiny dick that this is the only way I can bust a nut.
