We have regular gaming nights at our house. For gaming supper yesterday, a bunch of us ordered chinese food. Mine was lemon chicken; one of the other gamers ordered Peking duck. The restaurant we ordered from knows us well; in fact, they have found us under the label (they applied): the "no onion house". Nevertheless, they included a bag of onions for the Peking duck. Thinking it was the cabbage/lettuce for my lemon chicken, I stuck my face in it. And immediately, the inevitable happened. My eyes started stinging, watering, and I started getting a headache. Some naproxen sodium & diphenhydramine took care of the immediate problem. But I woke up a couple of times with my eye glued shut, due to the gunky discharge. And I went into the urgent care place, and they said probable secondary infection, due to allergic reaction. Sent me home with ophthalmic antibiotics. And now, I'm having trouble seeing out of my right eye most of the time. Not real happy aobut this.

feel better
:console: Ahhhh Lizardman, I'm sorry to hear about what happened. I hope you called the restaurant so they are informed of what they did to you. They should pay for the visit to the urgent care and your meds, at the very least.

Woke up in the middle of the night with my eye glued shut again. Went and cleaned it out, only to wake up for the day with it having happened again. This shit is getting old already.

Yeah, even though I ended up with my daughter's cold immediately after the eye thing.
Now it's just my background asthma. Need to set up an annual maintenance check-up fro that, as well.
Egads... glad it wasn't any worse, though it was bad enough, I'm sure. Sounds like a pretty miserable experience.
Glad you're over it.

Hi allen05. This joint runs on threads, which are idea specific conversations within the forum. Have a wander around, find a thread you are interested in, and put in your 2c worth.
Glad you bit the bullet and joined the Forum.

So, guess what? My eye infection in back. In fact, I went back to this particular thread to see which eye was the problematic one. Yes, it's my right eye again, although my left eye ins't completely clear, either.
Fuck everything.

You stay in our thoughts and prayers, gecko! Hopefully they'll be able to get this cleared up for you, too.

Well, another week's worth of ophthalmic antibiotics. Ointment this time, rather than drops, although the medicine is the same (tobramycin). And my left eye was somewhat goopy this morning, as well.
Overall, not as severe ats last time, but seemingly more widespread.
It would be nice to be able to see soemtimes.

If you know someone who is breastfeeding a youg baby, see if you can get her to express an ounce for you. My son's partner did that and put it in my grand-daughter's gluggy eyes, and it went away.

Yeah, OF, and last night, I snuck into your place and wrote the word "gullible" in blood on your ceiling.

We have geckos in the house, but have no evidence of literacy among ours.
