Decided to make a new post for those that care, so it doesn't get lost :) I made it through my surgery fine. I got home about 4pm EST on Friday. I have 4 incisions. They had to make the incision in my belly button a little bigger than they normally would because my gallbladder was SO full of stones, it wouldn't fit through the initial cut. I'm in some pain, but taking meds sparingly only when I absolutely NEED them. Sitting up is the worst so far....and coughing. I can't lift/push/pull/tug anything, so walking the 110lb furry child is out for the time being..and my other children can't climb on me either. My 4 yr old enjoys pulling up my shirt to look at the band-aids on my belly *eyeroll*. My 8 yr old is "taking care of mom" by getting me stuff I need...he's actually listening WAY better than normal! LOL.

Once the cuts knit, it'll seem like it hardly have happened.

BTW, do you want shares in the Brooklyn Bridge, going cheap?

It will take as long as it takes, and trying to rush it will only slow you down.

It's fortunate that you don't have more 'help' from the offspring.

A little late (as usual) to the party, but I can say that your experience sounds a lot like my wife's gall bladder exorcism...she had put it off a *little* too long to keep it at that "minor surgery" level. Not to scare you, but it did take most of the year to get back to 100%...but don't worry, she was prob 80% within a week or two, & for her even that 80% was 150% better than she had felt pre-surgery.

The mathematics of medicine, 'tis a marvellous thing.

Yes, it's been about a month and a half now...and mostly (about 98%) all better. I still have twinges around my belly button from time to time...but that's to be expected from all I hear.

Twinges are better than total lack of feeling due to nerve damage.
