Just nosey about how other people celebrate Valentine's. If you are in a ltr do you have any traditions? If you have a new love do you give them anything? is it too early? If you are a gift giver, do you give them gifts they want (they desire) or gifts you'd want them to have (token of your feelings)? Is it a combo of the two? If you do not celebrate it, do you celebrate your relationship, etc. in other ways, at other times?

Only once have I been in a relationship for Valentine's day. I gave her just a little something as a gift and attempted to take her to nice restaurant.
Every other year I've stayed home and watched tv or movies. Just like any other night.

Lilith, in my case, the answer to all of your questions is "yes".

As I tell M, every day with me is Valentine's Day.
No PF, it doesn't start off nice and end in a massacre.

Oldfart, that would be considered old school though. However, unless you happen to be related to a few Italians.......I doubt you celebrate that way.

Usually a card, a gift and a dinner out. This year, I've bought the card and I found a couple of really neat necklaces for her and we're going to dinner at a Peoria Country Club with several other couples. Should be a lot of fun.

Some years a movie, some years dinner out, and some years both.

LordSnow, you did great I still have the "little something" prince charming, just remember to make a reservation next time for the dinner...... I actually bought dresses to go out with LS V-day and the night before....
Marlboro surprised me with a rose in the front seat of my car Saturday that I discovered just before I sat on it..... a beautiful white to red rose, Sunday He dipped 2 and a half cartons of strawberries, decorated some with crushed walnuts, some with coconut, and some he left plain. He even packed them up in a decorative container so I could take them to work.
Today he got up at 4 AM and picked me up at work, we've spent all day just hanging out, will probably take the dogs to go swim at the river and enjoy the 65 degree weather.

Sounds like you had a great time Kyttn.
The dogs like ice-water?
(Anything under 75F is ice water, isn't it?)

OF, after the amount of snow we have had, 65 is WONDERFUL. The dogs don't really care as long as there's not a solid sheet of ice on the water and as long as we keep throwing the ball.
He bought me this really cute plant that has these wonky pink flowers on it. We exchanged mushy cards. Together we cooked bacon wrapped scallops, made a spinach salad, and drank a bottle of wine. Ok, he had one glass and I drank the rest. There was to be some hanky panky but natue interfered so we just watched a movie and cuddled.

V.D. was the same old same old. Roses, Lindt and a card. But the sex was fan-fucking-tastic!!! :P

I come from the generation where V.D. wasn't necessarily associated with Valentine's Day.
BTW, when did they drop the Saint?

The last thing we need is a dose of V.D. for Valentine's Day.
