So I went to the much dreaded "female doctor" yesterday. I was totally freaked out to the point they were concerned about my blood pressure. I also dreaded that the doctor was male (that just makes me even MORE uncomfortable...the visit alone is enough to send me over the edge and not in a good way). Imagine...paying someone to grope you in the name of "health care." It gives me the creeps just thinking about it. Any other lady Pixies freaked out by going to these appointments?

...and I need a hug :(

I have avoided going for 3 years and I finally really showed for my appt. with my usual health care professional only to find her out sick and having to show my goodies to a total stranger. I feel your pain.

I didn't go to a doctor for 14 years. I didn't have insurance and I wasn't sick, so I didn't see the need. This horrified my now boyfriend, who prompty made me go have a full fledge physical immediately, and has insisted I continue once a year. :rolleyes2

My doctor is this funny, gruff, ginormous black man, who I completely trust to get the job done and fix whatever might be broke. Now that I'm entering peri-menopause I sorta of feel sorry for all men...even my doc. ;)

I hate going to the doctor for that type of visit.. I have female doctors so its not so bad. but still there you are all exposed.

I refuse to go to male doctor as you try to explain to him you have pms or whatever nd having craving and they say exercise. I finally told doctor.. Ok tell you what. Let me put your balls in a vise. and then do some push ups.

Ok getting off the soapbox now
