Go ahead and gloat. You have the right...temorarily.

For those of you soulless cretins who haven't a clue what I'm talking about, the Canadian women beat the US women in this evening's gold medal ice hockey game. 2-0.

The sad part is that the glory of winning Hockey gold is not as great as the shame of CANDA NOT winning :hockey: would be.

And now, the IOC is "investigating" the Canadian team for their post-vctory celebrations.

Big deal, so they were swilling beer and smoking cigars on ice (for over an hour, after the stadium had cleared out). Yeah, lingering on the ice for that long makes the job of the clean-up crew difficult, and smoking cigars even more so (it is downright dangerous to have cigar ash on the ice, so the clean-up crew has to be extra careful). So, maybe they deserve a verbal reprimand for taking the on-ice celebrations a little too far: they should have celebrated inthe locker room.

But I hope the IOC doesn't do anything stupid, and issue any more than a reminder to "shoo! shoo!" after the game.

....But I hope the IOC doesn't do anything stupid,.......
Are you kidding?:wobbly: They already have with "investigating" somebody celebrating a great accomplishment. I didn't hear that they 'refused' to leave at any time or anything else. They're more likely pissed that they didn't get invited for a few free Canadian beers.

That was a great game! I know the U.S.A. team really wanted the gold, but they needn't have looked so glum after the game. They played great and brought home silver medals... nothin' to scoff at.

Congrats to the Canadian team!

So many months of trying to prove that they are the world's best, failing, and knowing that it'll take 4 years to have another go, in Russia.

Why would they be upset?

Both teams are extremely good. Anything could have tipped that game the other way. The first time they played against each other, Canada lost! Maybe the medal went to Canada, but it's hard to say that either of the teams is better than the other.
