This is a bitch-thread :box:
"Send us your 'OLD' gold."
That implies there is "new gold" somewhere. If all the gold to date was formed 13 billion years ago, just who is making the "new gold" and what make of oven are they using?
Something else I'm confused about is what junk yard has all the "scrap gold"? Where did I get the impression that gold has always had a high value to people in every civilization and not a new concept. Why am I confused when I hear [screeched in a high pitch nasal female voice] "I didn't know my gold was worth money", or "unwanted gold" or "broken gold"?
:hair: :banghead: :hair:
Actually I am confused on whether I am more pissed and disgusted at the parasites (my bet is they are an arm of "the financial community" receiving our tax $$$$$$$$$$$$) that are bleeding the desperate masses, or the ignorance of my "fellow American" that is so stupid to keep feeding the greed of these low life's. Without research, my guess is they are paying much less than half the market value for this commodity. I'll also make book that a good percentage of the articles are getting "refurbished" and re-entering the market at record retail prices due to the record prices of the speculation market.
From my prospective, Madison Ave. is as much in complicity as Wall St. for this pilfering of the people as for the global economy today. The thing that is most broken and morally bankrupt is our system. Accomplishment, honesty and fairness are a long distance behind the singular motivator of greed at all levels.

The Cash4gold group is a complete rip off. Watched a special on 20/20 or one of the others like it. Anyway they had a guy analyze their gold "scraps" and then they went around to pawn shops to see what they could get. Surprisingly most were really close to what they guy said and those that weren't usually went up to the correct amount when they said they were leaving.
Then they sent it to the Cash4Gold. I don't remember exactly but the worth of the gold was around $1100. Cash4gold offered $400 and said that they had this super neat ultra futuristic neutrino z-ray lazer that allowed them to perfectly analyze the quality of the gold. Yeah and my crap will turn purple and smell like rainbow sherbert.

Who was it once said, "It's morally wrong to allow suckers to keep their money"?
I just brought up this very topic today to my Joe because I had noticed all the gold-for-cash advertisements around town. And today when we were in one of the largest malls in our area I saw one of those kiosks set up to buy peoples unwanted gold. Hmm? What a rip off and I stupid people who don't research what they are doing get what they deserve.

The term "broken and unwanted gold" isn't describing the gold itself. It's describing the piece of jewelry. Like a broken bracelet that you never got fixed, or an earring that lost it's stone so you don't wear them anymore. However, I agree with the rest of what was said about people who don't do their research into stuff like that deserve to get ripped off. There are tons of them out there. Such as; buying foreclosed property for under $400.00, they'll tell you how, but you have the buy the program, then attend a seminar, then another seminar, then another. Meanwhile, you're paying to go to each one. My personal favorite is the guy selling the book that tells you how to get all kinds of government money.

Damn, late on line again.
PF, gold is created during the explosion of supernovas (ae), the gold we love
comes from dying stars, as does everything heavier than iron.
Gold parties are rip-offs.

Hey! I buy a lotto ticket once and awhile. I spend no more than $5.00 and it gives the chance to win. If I don't, oh well. If I do....well........you'll see me on the news with about 5,000 police cars after me in my Ferrari or some other super car.
