I gave my old van to #1 son couple years back, after driving the dogshit out of it...I know, but it seemed like the thing to do. Just for the record, I prob shouldn't be supporting him still, but he's kind of a Lost Boy, even in his 20's. So the old van has become unsafe at any speed, & I have to find him another vehicle that will be somewhat dependable, & still fits my limited budget...not many of those around. After a thorough internet search, I find the perfect car, at an...acceptable price. We drive 30 miles south of town, check it out, I test drive it...if I didn't already have a van that I'm still paying for, I'd have gotten it for myself. Even had paperwork from when the tranny was redone, with a year & 1/2 of warranty left...

So guess what part of the vehicle crunched before he even got it home?

Kharma's not a bitch, it's making me its bitch.

Sorry to hear you've already had some problems with the "new" car. Hopefully things will all work out. Sounds like us ... can't just have one problem to face ... got to be a bunch piled on top of one another.

Keep the spirits up, this, too, shall pass. :wish:

That is horrible. Is he ok? Not just from the crash, but did you kill him?

It sounds more like the world kissed your ass.

Normally if I had a year and a half left on the tranny warranty, it would be the differential that would go out. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-angry020.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org)

If it was me a year and 7 months would go by and then the tranny would drop.

Um,...the driver? Or was that after you got him home?

Sorry I wasn't clearer, it was the transaxle crunched in on itself, just as he got to the interstate exit. He limped down the road to a stop 'n' rob store cuz he wanted a soda, then called me on the cell to tell me it broke down (I was at home, just around the corner from the store). I wasn't mad at him, he didn't do anything to cause the problem (except maybe get his bad kharma all over it :banghead: )

Turns out the tranny shop will cover the repair (but not the tow bill), so I'm feeling less shit on than I was at first...but even a little shit on is more than I want to be...
