Yeah if you can lift your arms above your head your ribs are just bruised

OK, I thought it may be a quick and dirty re-alignment technique.

But can you lift yourself up off the ground, using nothing but your arms?

He is has always mainstreamed. He is nondistinguishable (sp? word?) from his peers in almost all regards. He has right side hemiplegia that presented as lack of use and hypertonic right arm and no use of right leg, as a bambino. Basically every pic I have of him til he was like 3 has his right arm/hand curled up by his shoulder. We did OT/PT/Speech 3 x a week each for 4 years and worked hard at home. He has no cognitive issues (gifted- smart ass even) only the physical 1 sidedness which now presents as weakness. Now he is into karate and a green stripe in Kenpo. He fights black belts every Friday night. He is SUPER clutzy from the balance issues (still falls down if he looks straight upwards) and he went through a alot of challenges but as time goes by he understands himself more. He never uses it as a crutch to not do something, only as a reason to work harder to accomplish it. The Dr. said he was born to be right handed but he self adapted left and was a wicked lefty soccer player but could not keep up as the fields got larger and they wanted to play him more. His achilles just could not take it. So he switched to martial arts and it has changed his life, his belief in his self. He's amazing. He doesn't really know it yet but he is. Being 13 does that to you.

What flavor of CP do you have? :)

Oh did I mention he is one of thirty kids in the BU Physics program ?

and my particular flavor is a hole in the left side of the brain leading to right side issues I was fortunate than most my age I went to kindergarten and first grade in a "special school " with the daughter of a NY Yankee though by choice I repeated first grade in a mainstream school so I'm sure we all had special attention at the time

Ah yes very indiscriminate isn't it I discovered I had a seizure disorder 1 day after my high school graduation was polishing the chrome on my cars differential (rear end ) my friend came by to see how I was doing after all that cheap beer (drinking age was 18 back then ) .... got up from under the car he was shuffling through my tapes that's where / when I passed out hitting the concrete hard keep that in the back of your mind what might be lurking ahead I woke up to my dad cradling me in his arms as I think about it it brings tears to my eyes

Now that scares me :( They told me he would be much more likely to develop seizures in his late teens. *crosses her fingers* Do you have them often?
