I gave a portable DVD player so that season's of "House" can be watched.
It was met with a big smile and surprise.

I got the new wedge I needed for golf and the DVD of "Band of Brothers".

I also didn't have to be to work at 3am, so I'm very happy today.

I have a couple of gifts sitting in a drawer, I'll get them later and unwrap them, I've been busy burning, ahem, cooking food and picking at it so much that when it came down to eating it, I wasn't particularly hungry and hadn't given the presents a thought :rolleyes:

I've heard word that at least a few of the things I gave were received with gleeful squeals of delight, and that made me happy :)

1nutworld, I have Band of Brothers, it's a fantastic series. I got as far as the second to last episode and then I broke down so much that I didn't feel I could sit through the final episode at the time. I will do one day though, I think the whole thing is something that needs seeing.

You will both LOVE it, Lil and IM :nod: Got one myself and all you need to do is plug it in and stick in any card with pics on it. It will start running a slide show by itself. You can play with the tricks later.

I was given 'Band of Brothers' last year and you are right, FWM. It should be required viewing by every parliament, congress member and national authority in the world before taking office. Perhaps the best story telling to someone that hasn't been to some place you don't want to go that I've seen.

I was right about being the Santa of the year for some thrilled kids. :xmas: Without a doubt, the highlight for the three youngest was the surprise I spotted so early (http://www.pixies-place.com:81/forums/showthread.php?t=32888) in the year. :D While I knew it would be a hit with the youngest three, I was happily surprised the see envy on the faces of the 14 and 16 year olds. (Birthdays are coming ;) )

You can see how thrilled my daughter is and that is my son-out-law to the side, checking his new engraved silver St Paddy day flask for content. :D

Only thing better than one good gift is three good gifts. :)

The oven in our stove went out about a week ago and our three girls families went together and got us a new stove which my son-in-law who lives in Peoria, came over and installed yesterday. :) The perfect gift at the perfect time.

This morning, we had the kids over and made souffle's, bacon, braided bread, and coffee cakes ... initiating the oven in fine style.

I got tears from my moody girl!! :thumbs: She wants to be a baker and loves making cakes and cupcakes for her drama class. So, I put together a huge box with new cake pans, cake mixes, frostings, decorations, and a new cupcake recipe book. It was the package of rubber spatulas (she had talked about them once) that really turned on the water works. Damn child even got me crying. :)

My Sweetie gave me several wonderful gifts, but my favorite was the pink Build-a-Bear I got last week. I named her Little Girl and she has Hello Kitty panties. I love her!!!

I gave him a wallet that was the nicest he has ever owned. That made me feel good because he is damn hard to buy for.

My Dad received Band of Brothers a few years ago. We watch the whole thing once a year. On Memorial Day. Wonderful series. This year I got the first two seasons of House and the first season of Friends. I don't mind watching the show every once and awhile, but what am I gonna do? My dad seemed to like the copy of Ray I got him, my aunt loved the two Toy Story movies I got her. My cousin Marion I gave the fifth season of Tales from the Crypt. And my cousin Jaremy seemed to like the sword I got him. Christmas was lean for us this year, but it still wasn't half bad.

It sounds like ^^^ got the best possible gift but second best has the be these digital frames. It looks like they were a big seller this year and I see why. I know they've been around for a number of years but never paid much attention to them. Perhaps because they were very pricey when they first came out. I have to say it is the highlight of my gifts. :)

By noon Christmas day I had edited all of this years family gathering from the night before and all on one little memory card. I was so pleased I started pricing smaller cards and was thrilled to find you can get 256mb and 512mb cards for well under USD$2. I can have a card with any subject or group of pics I want and play them like my music. Any mood or thoughts can be popped in and roll by at anytime I want and it even will act as another backup for records that can't be replaced. It's even helping me sort many of my photos into better managed groups while I wait for 52 cards to get here. :rofl: (snagged 32, 256mb cards for $36.11 ;) )

I now have groups for all my PAGAN gatherings set aside to be copied. And bunches of family groups from holidays, rolling pics of all our sexy Pixie ladies, of whole life pet pics and all sorts of good things things.:D And YES, I have 807 of my very favorite panty pics running on one little 128mb card. :tongue:

I am testing to see if I can get away with wearing a nice, long formal skirt and collared shirt in lieu of the full suit I normally wear. :) I still don't have the complete verdict, but I think I can get away with it.
