Found myself in a really horrible situation...I was doing pick-up & delivery work for a print shop...the boss was handing me all kinds of orders, & I didn't seem to understand what I was supposed to do...

Then I slowly came to the realization that this was vaguely familiar, this was a job I left behind 30 years ago, & it was all just a

bad dream!!!

How about you? Had any really bad flashbacks to a time & place you thought was way back in your rearview mirror? Wake up in a panic, or cold sweats?

Happily not for a long time now.

Funny enough I don't dream the past. I end up dreaming the future. It's never useful and always some insignificant part of my day, but it always comes true. I can also tell when it's a "future" dream. Although the last dream I remember had zombies in it. Don't ask.

No, when I confront my past, it's in the cold hard light of day.

I quite often wake up with a jolt and hear myself shout out loud, clinging on to the bed, when I've dreamed I've been falling. Feels very real, and it freaks me out.

I dream about my late father (1943-2001). It feels like he comes to see me in my dreams and we chat and it's like he's still with me. I've woken up on more than one occasion thinking his death was all a bad dream but then realise it wasn't and I lose him all over again.

I often wake up crying from dreams that I remember for the split second upon waking and then my mind clears and I can't understand why I'm sobbing as the dream has vanished - I've done this ever since I was a child.

To balance things out, I have woken up laughing before, too

It wasn't a flash back but once I dreamed that my Dad was dead. It was such a vivid dream that it was lunch time before I could convince myself that he was still alive.

Had the same kind of dream about my brother (1949-94) recently, we were talking about this & that, & only as the dream was almost over did I realize that he wasn't supposed to be here anymore. Very disturbing.

Once in a while, I dream that I am still my church's sacristan, and the mass has started and I'm not done preparing everything, and I forget what I need to get ready, and I'm just running around trying to get everything done...

I dreamt last night that I was giving a high school level class and ripped this smart ass kid a new asshole. Must be all the whiners, selfish, and ego laden people I deal with in every aspect of my day. I am not sure if it was a nightmare or a tension reliever.

I asked for examples of when you woke up screaming, not laughing your ass off ;)

That's sorta what got me started with this thread...there are elements of my current work that are eerily similar to a job I had during the disco era :doorpeek:

Awoke from an on-going nightmare in which I was back at work in the printing business...kept screwing up a job because I had forgotten everything I used to know about film assembly, & checking the time clock because I was getting into OT trying to fix my fuck-ups. Finally the phone rang & woke me up...

...and it was yet another pre-recorded spam call saying this was my "final chance" to lower my credit card rates. :bs:

my reoccuring one is finding myself back at the beginning of high school, facing another four years to completion, and not as my 15 y/o self, but as I am now, and I cannot change a single thing. I am doomed to the same mistakes, but also the fun times as well. It is the mistakes and heartache and the strange thoughts of a hormone drenched teenage mind that give me the screaming willies each time.........the ironic part..........I still want to be a high school biology teacher...:/

No, this is the same group of ratbastards that call back the next day unless you press "2" to stop the calls...then they call back every 2 hours instead :bs:
