I had a city bus/walking field trip of a downtown museum and then took my babies to picnic on the top floor look out of the state capitol building today. Awesome trip but I was exhausted and moist and not in the sexy way. And you know I say moist because us Southern Belles do not sweat. Anyhow I digress...
So I am also at the tail end of having worked a 13 and a 16 hour day on top of my usual 10 ones this week. I get back to school with the same kids I started with (and btw the bus driver was so nice she said we "overpaid" the first time and let us ride home free) and there is an email from my boss saying that we have all worked so hard and she appreciates us. She also said we are to go home right after the kids leave (about a 1/2 hour early) and do not come back on the weekend. Spend it relaxing and being with our families.
I came home and took a bath, ate that fucking fab ice cream and am heading out to get a massage soon.
I am writing this so that some day when I am bitching one of you can bump this and remind me I have a great life.

I drove all the way across town and my massage girlie forgot about our appt. and on the way I found out an old family friend I was at one time super close to (basically my step dad except we were living in a hippy-ish commune type thing so no marriage) died.
For some reason I don't think bumping this thread is going to have the desired affect.

Is ok. I just spoke too soon. Happens everytime.
If thats the case can try saying something like, "Aqua will surely never ever show up on my front porch."
Then I'll magically be whisked away and I can give you a proper hug.

Thanks Oldfart. He was a one in a million character. He and I have had a bet my whole life that I would not pee outdoors. I said never and he assured me I would. I will pee outside in his honor :p

Don't use the rapid dissolving toilet paper. The package doesn't say exactly how rapidly it dissolves and I don't know anyone that wants to play beat the clock in the thicket. LOL. I am sorry to hear about your "step dad".

Thanks. He taught me a lot. He taught me to play "Indian Head" poker which is not a very PC term but what he called it. One time my girlfriend and I popped Black Beauties and stayed up all night with him playing for pennies listening to Dylan, Prine, Joplin, and a host of others. He had been horribly disfigured and handicapped from having been in a fire as a small child. He was a cartographer who named the street I grew up on Easy Street because if a street had no name he just gave it one. He also only had 2 fingers and an unusual thumb on the hand he drew with. He was truly an individual and he gave me the courage to be different.

Lilith,
Sorry to learn of your loss. He will not be completely gone while you keep your memory of him. Grieve AND remember him.
