Redoing the basement

So my husband and I are beginning to finish the basement in our new house. Any advice from any of you that have done this before?

My Dad is starting to redo ours as a recreational room with a pool table and full bar

That's really similar to what we're doing. So far, we've got it wired and we have the bar framed up.

Sounds super LAW. :)
Be careful about planing for that pool table. They can be deceiving. You have to add a minimum of 5 ft. on ALL sides (with no posts). That means the space for that 8 ft. table just became 18 ft.. :nod:

And they're bloody heavy, so easy to damage.
