(http://www.pixies-place.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18197) thread lately, you can't have missed that some of us have developed a little addiction. :o Since our comments seemed to be taking over that thread, and at soda's suggestion, here's the place to talk about it now. :D

At the Norwegian Kristiansand Zoo (http://www.dyreparken.com/index.jsp?c=18273), a live cam is following the progress of four lion cubs (http://atvs.vg.no/player/?id=16995)!!!!!!!!!!! They are so adorable, and seem to be growing before our eyes!

This page (http://www.dyreparken.com/index.jsp?a=119152) seems to be saying that the cubs were born the 31st of May. (If anyone can understand anything written on that page, please share!!!!!) There is also this video (http://atvs.vg.no/player/?id=16997) showing more of the area in which the lions are.

HA HA :D Momma gradually gets up and moves off cam for a stroll. Slowly a wobbly head raises from where she was laying. I think cub bones are rubber. :rofl:

You learn something new every day : when Momma curls back her lip after licking the cubs, it's called the Flehmen response (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flehmen_response). Lions have a vomeronasal organ located on the roof of the mouth, and curling back her lip so helps expose the vomeronasal organ and draws scent molecules back toward it.

So even though she looks like she's going "Ew yuck ptoo-i", she's really smelling!

When I click 'play', it first looks like mom was just flipped from one lazy position to another with photoshop and the cubs were redistributed like a beanbag toss. :rofl:

That is does. I bottle fed 5 Cocker Spaniel and 8 Doberman puppies for a client for about a week. We rubbed their rumps and pee-ers with towels to get them to potty...interesting but kind of icky too.

They've add some new clips of the cubs telling you they ARE going to be mean lions when they grow up, during their checkups. :rofl: Seems it's getting harder to get and keep them in their weighing bucket. LOL

This one: http://go.vg.no/cgi-bin/go.cgi/vgtvmeny/http://atvs.vg.no/player/?id=18947 shows the daddy lion, Aragorn, being introduced to the little ones for the first time, and getting seven bells kicked out of him by the lionesses :p The warden said that they could and would intervene if it became too violent, but said what's happening in the vid is completely normal and acceptable, the ladies just need to make sure that the daddy behaves himself :nod:
