I've not long got back from an Interstate visit (a LONG way it is *LOL*)
I managed to snap a few pics along the way, not many though, as the trip was not really for a holiday, so most are taken in the car while travelling, but you may like them.
Some going through Central NSW....miles and miles of.....not a damn thing *LOL* But it as pretty in its own way....
Central NSW4 12th April 08.jpg ~ The road seemed to go on forever!!

Those are some mighty fine pics.
I loved the ones you snapped when trying to shoot the oncoming trucks!
I'd imagine that IS much harder than it looks, especially if you were driving!
(I know why you had such a hard time catching the truck, you were driving on the wrong side of the road..... :roflmao: )

I hope that WAS high tide! If it comes up 5cm, you'll never find your pool balls.
How did they make it so FLAT?

Thanx guys!
Oh, i wasn't actually driving when i snapped the pics *LOL* I was the passenger then. Cruise control is good, but not THAT good :D:D
The beach has very little sand area now days, used to walk for a bit to get to the water, it only really came in that far with a king tide. That is why they terraced and lawned the dunes, so tourists had an area to sunbathe on.
That would not have been a high tide, high tide would cover the whole sand area and the rocks along the edge.
The beach gets man-o-war jellies on occassion, but generally it is fairly safe. Rips and sharkie poos would be the biggest danger, but well its a big pond and the sharks tend to stay out deeper, mostly :D
Its is flat eh, flat for miles and miles *LOL* We were cruising along, and i spotted a roo and joey on the side of the road (it was in a ways not right along side), so i was pointing it out to the kids, then Bilbo points out there was more. A HUGE mob of roos was grazing along the side, thankfully they stayed there and didnt jump in front of us (110km + roo/s = much carnage). We went a bit further and there were wild emus. Twas exciting to see, even for us *LOL*.
Lizards love to sun themselves on the road, we did indeed see a large lizzie doing just that!
We are gonna go back home for Xmas, but for longer (prolly 3-4 weeks). So will snap some pics of the other beach and wharf area (with working cray/crab/fishing boats) then.
We will also be looking for work in Victoria, so we can move closer to our parents. As to how long that will take, well one never knows eh!

like the line from "jaws" about most shark attacks happening in three feet of water.
well duh, that's where most people swim. :D

Central NSW seems a lot like not being the lead dog, in that the scenery never changes
Also looks a lot like my brother's descriptions of the Texas landscape from his days in basic training (Lackland AFB), no one would dare go AWOL, since you couldn't tell what direction you were headed.
Beautiful beach, tho...looks like a worthwhile place to move to even if you didn't need to be near the 'rents...

Been there. In fact, had a baby there. It's actually in the middle of a ginormous city.
I too thought it looked like Texas. West Texas. I took a drive from San Antonio to New Mexico and the vistas were very similar.

The scenery's normally a dull olive, not the sere white-yellow of the drought-scape.

I do have a question?
How do you read the road signs while driving on the wrong side? :)

You look at them upside down,of course. After all, it's Australia.

Thanks for the pics. The beach looks great and alot like the ones near me. Is it a big tourist spot?
*makes note to self -IF I ever get to Australia avoid that stretch of road, head right for the beach!*
