Except the real link to the article on Snopes is http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/invitation.asp. And it's a hoax.

Don't believe everything you read.

Now, the link which is broken in your forwarded email, http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/postcard.asp, does talk of a real virus. Which, incidentally, has nothing to do with that shit you posted.

Good eye, Niege. These little details such as you've noted are the stuff of longer lasting security.

Now that there are websites like Snopes to debunk these bogus scare emails, people are just adding 'I checked this on Snopes' into the email.

Also, when you get an email with a bunch of name dropping...

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has
been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive
virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee
yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys
the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital
information is kept.

... that's a pretty sure sign it's bogus.

...Then again... Perhaps you are right...

Why would you want to think critically?

Why should you doubt what others say?

Why should you care if you are spreading lies?

Why not follow blindly like a sheep?
