I saw a performance of "Cirque Dreams" last night.

It is pure, unadulterated spectacular. With no real plot, an international (American, Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, etc.) cast of acrobats and contortionists perform on an imaginatively lit (exploiting ultra violet or "black" lights at times) stage. The show uses a VERY thin musical story line to tie together the most impressive, amazing, jaw-dropping, spell-binding set of gymnastics I have seen in my life.

There are several heart stopping moments during the performances before and after the intermission. Several of the acts involved behaviors I would have believed were not humanly possible had I not watched them happen. Unbelievable - but true. There were other, less gaudy, but visually pleasant - beautiful, if you will - acts. All were set to an engaging and well performed "jungle beat" score.

If you take the opportunity to see this touring show, rest assured you will not be disappointed.

Looks interesting. Too bad I did not know they were in Jax last week.

We sent my ex-wife to Melbourne (right across the continent) to see Cirque Varekai for her last birthday.
