Many are now predicting full-scale civil war in Pakistan.

What the world needs is peace, not suicide bombers and extremists. :(

Pakistani democracy has taken a hit. The Pakistan People's Party will have a difficult time holding together following her death.

Unfortunately ... this kind of "transition" ... is probably more the rule than the exception in most of the world. Benazir Bhutto even acknowledged that she was facing a severe threat by simply returning to Pakistan. The Taliban and Al Queda (as I understand it) even threatened her life because she was determined to free Pakistan of their influence. Wouldn't it be nice if the world would only direct it's passions to peace and the well-being of all. :(
Very sad.

Bhutto advocated a secular democratic Pakistan.
Her assassin and his masters did not.
Sadly there are more human torpedoes than gifted statespersons.

This assassination has affected me more than I expected; I really don't understand this world I live in.

I have not seen the news in a week almost. I had no idea. How awful.

A tragedy that a country so close to the tipping point already did not need...
Sleep will not come easy for anybody in that part of the world, nor for anybody who was hoping for a little stability there...
