This man inspired more young men than any other man I know. RIP (http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/11/30/obit.knievel/index.html)

Get your motor running. He was the very best at what he did! Wide World of Sports wasn't the same when he wasn't on there.

Yep, I remember being glued to the TV when he would make his motorcycle jumps and for his Snake River Canyon attempt. There was one Christmas when the only thing I wanted was an Evel Knievel toy motorcycle and action figure. It was the best toy I ever had and I wish I still had it.

Oh and the times of building ramps and trying to jump things with the bicycle. Yep, more than once I got myself in trouble for trying to be like Evel.

RIP Mr. Knievel, you were a huge part of my childhood.

You can include me in that demographic. Besides being a daredevil, he lived by his own rules and had a full life.

This news saddens me much more than it probably should. I'm gonna grab my bike and do a stunt in his honor.

Rest in peace.

Super Dave was one of his star pupils. He was the worst thing that happened to medical premiums since small pox, but a lot of fun to watch. RIP

I met/spoke with his son Robby when I was working at a restaurant in a little po-dunk town town. I served them both breakfast.

I think most of us, as young men, were inspired on our own...he was just the first alledged grown-up we ever saw that said it was ok to risk breaking your neck on a regular basis...
