For me it was being in the middle of a screaming orgasm and hearing the front door slam. (child came home early from a sleepover)

Finding out one of our boys has started smoking. :(

Mine skipped a beat or two this morning when I was driving along and hit a patch of ice and did a bit of skidding that I really wasn't planning on.

I deliver pizza a few nights a week. I don't really need the money but it's nice, I just like getting out of the house, and the owner of the place has done a lot to help my wife and me out, he's short handed right now, and I just got laid off (seasonal thing and collecting more in unemployment than most people I know are making actually working so not a big deal).

Taking a delivery to a house last night I went down on the ice HARD. Got a pretty nice bruise to show for it. That stopped my heart. I kept their pizzas upright and undamaged. Lady was standing at the door when I hit the concrete.

Guess how much she tipped.

Oh man, tell me she didn't stiff you Jude!

I took a nice tumble on the ice a few weeks ago, hopefully you aren't as sore this morning as I was when I pulled off the feat. :wish:

I was outside taking pics of my house with the Xmas lights on it and all of a sudden the entire street erupted in screams and shouts. FSU got a touchdown.

A rare enough occurence to cause a commotion, eh?
:brows:
Hope the combined 'noles tears at the end of the game didn't cause flooding on your street...

The game Lil was speaking of was the Music City Bowl, held here at LP Field. I made the mistake of agreeing to drive one of our employees to her home in east Nashville, & got stuck in traffic crossing the river just as the game ended...nearly ran over a drunken Kentucky fan who was trying to hail an already taken taxi so he wouldn't have to walk all the way back to his car...

Remember, no good deed ever goes unpunished....

Hearing from the repair shop that my primary computer has blown its hard drive...

The 200+ smackers to repair the damage is bad enough, but knowing there's no guarantee they can salvage ANY of the data...that could be a disaster, esp. with tax time coming...

And guess who hasn't backed up any data lately? :banghead:

That sound like a "don't bend over near a computer store (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010150014+4027&name=%2475+-+%24100) in Nashville".

Ok, first off, I had no way of knowing that the prob was in the hard drive until they checked it out for me...

I can do the little upgrades & such on my own puter, as long as everything works like it's supposed to...but anybody who's spent a day or two with a puter knows that nothing ever works like it's supposed to...

Heard a noise in the car and thought I was gonna have to sink more money into her.

Turned out it must have been some ice under it cause the noise is gone. "whew"

I stopped at the red light but then took off like a stop sign, relized as I did that it was a stop light and not a stop sign. So lucky no cars were close around. Was thinking of something and just spaced out what I was doing.

First time, getting caught in hail/wind/driving rain storm on I-24 today.

2nd time, learning this afternoon that I got out of Murfreesboro just before a major twister (same storm system above) tore thru town. Sadly, 2 dead, at least 1 in critical condition, but mostly lots of property damage with most folks grateful to be alive.

Having finished up various errands as the snow started falling, I was all set to show up at the dispatch office ready to start work. The streets were just starting to get a little slick, but slow 'n' steady seemed to be safe enough. Less than 1/2 mi to the office, one of those big long Jaguars pulls out onto the street & begins fishtailing, over-correcting, & swerving more & more out of control; I'm watching this slow motion ice ballet, when I realize this idiot's not gonna save it, in fact he's sliding sideways uphill &
heading right at me! :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:
Fortunately, all this was developing slowly enough for to gently pick up the pace & get out of Shit4brain's way just in time...I check to rearview to make sure the danger is passed, & the dumbass has decided, since he's already headed that way, to follow me down the hill.

I decided right there that I had probably used up any good luck I had coming for one day, & I should just turn it around at the first opportunity & stay safe at home. I knew that my driving skills would not be enough to overcome the collective power of all the dumbass drivers that come out to play hell every time Gnashville gets a little snow & ice.

Actually, looking back, I prolly shoulda let him hit me. Judging from the MSRP of his vehicle, I missed a good opportunity to let his insurance buy me a new van. God knows, with 94K miles & a noisy power steering pump ready to kick the bucket, I could use a new one...

Meh, just as well...it would have been just one of 100's of accident reports filed that day, & I'd prolly still be out a van (& my 2nd largest income source)...
