Hello All
I am needing some advice as right now i can't even see straight@!!! :weg:
Friday i was laid off from my sales position. The tacky thing is they did it over the phone. I am waiting for a call from the local labor on if it is legal or not.
I was told they would send my personal effects to me via fedex. So the doorbell rings today and it is the fedex person.. First think he says " is anything fragile and i said yes. " he shook the box and it rattled. I proceded to open the box and my picture frames were all broken.

I have no idea if this is malicious or not. but i am furious.

Rhiannon,

Get it documented - anything and everything. If this ends up being adjudicated in a formal setting, the more paper trails you have the better your position will be.

Seek out and secure legal cousel. The company will be represented by a pro - you should also be. There may be free (Pro Bono) cousel available. Call around.

Sue the bastards - or at least make them think you will. It will strengthen your position.

I would think they have to officially notify you that you have either been terminated or laid off. You will need a pink slip.

You should also put in a claim with fedex for your personal effects. There's no way you can prove the items were not broken during shipping.
