Not enough by far.

They should have stripped every asset off every one of the heartless protesters.

I agree, it's only a good start. There's no bigger First Amendment hawk than me around here, but what these assholes do is beyond the pale...freedom of speech comes with a price tag, & one has to accept the responsiblity for what one says under its banner.

If these people were to show up to spew their hatred in my hour of grief, I would not sue for damages...I would likely recruit some friends to take damages out of their hides...

Perhaps Mr. Snyder will never see a nickel of the money awarded to him. Perhaps the judgment will be overturned on appeal, and it probably will be overturned. Perhaps these hate filled bigots will be able to hide their assets and avoid paying any damages as other defendants, for example O.J. Simpson, in civil cases have done. Even if Mr. Snyder never collects anything, he is still a winner.

Finally, after all the years during which this group of reprehensible people, hiding behind the U.S. Constitution, have abused so many others, someone took the time to say “Stop”.

And for that, Mr. Snyder gets my thanks - and deserves any of the damages he manages to squeeze out of a “church” whose central doctrine is that this country's hard won tolerance of homosexuality is the reason why soldires are being killed in Iraq, why five Amish girls were killed in Pennsylvania, and even why the World Trade Center was attacked. What a twisted perversion of a Christian church!

It is sad but undeniable that there are people who are either unable or unwilling to accommodate other points of view. Those who delight in taking advantage of other people’s misfortunes should not be surprised when their presumptions are challenged.

And yes, Don Imus is scheduled to return to radio on December 3rd. :(

This group is especially disgusting. Good people of all faiths and those of no faith should be able to agree on this one. At the time when families are laying to rest one who has passed on, they deserve to be able to do that in a peaceful and dignified way.

Well said. Not to mention the fact that the only reason they have the ability to protest anything is because of those soldiers.
