OK...I have completely lost it. :wobbly: It is official.

I bet my daughter that in two weeks time I would be able to do the splits.

A bit of history...I was good at gymnastics. I could do the splits and everything. Uneven bars and balance beam and the floor exercises. But now....I really dont know if I can do this. But it made my daughter smile...so I will try...

Have you ever tried to capture the past through a bet?

txgrneyes,

Yes mam, I have. I hope you have better success than I did! :yikes:

It's the old, "What the hell was I thinking!" been there :)

Yes, I have. And the look on my son's face (first surprise and then pride) when I hit the ball over his and his friend's heads (who had scooted up into the diamond) into way back center field was priceless.

Capture the past?

The bastard can run faster than I can.

No bet involved, but a few years back I thought I might see if I could still jump across the creek (about 4 ft across & 2-3 lower to the other side) the same as I could when I was a kid, just showing off for my neighbor & our respective children...
The good news is that I made it over ok...when the neighbor said something about blowing out a knee, I assured him I was all right...

...inside, I was thinking, "That was scary & stupid, you dumbass!"

I might be in better shape now than I was 10 years ago - and yes, I can still do splits, too. :p

I wish you luck - if you don't use it, you lose it...and building back up again is Hell. I know...it's taken me 3 years.

Every time I think about "jumping down" from the back of a pickup truck or off a stage ... :(

I tried to "go back" once...and do a back bend/arch.

Hmmmmmmmmm...the ground is much closer these days.

And gravity seems to have a stronger pull than it did when we were young, as well...

What OF said...

Lixy said the ground is much closer, & I was referring to the greater degree of difficulty getting up from the ground these days...I blame gravity...

With all due respect...I wish you two would keep your mouths shut!

I'm trying to get her to post brand new pictures of her boobs so she can "prove you wrong". ;)
