I just watched Astronaut Farmer. I had no idea how badly I needed this movie. I needed so badly to be reminded that my dreams are part of what make me the woman, wife, mother, teacher, friend, lover, that I am to the people who believe in me and those dreams.

What are your dreams? Tell me. I promise not to laugh. I know sometimes we have reasonable attainable dreams and sometimes we have dreams that seem so distant we wonder if they are dreams or simply delusions. Tell me them all.

We should all live long enough.

They change as my world-picture changes.

Lil, "The Dreamer" was an almost full-scale copy of that explosive telegraph pole we saw at KSC. Words cannot express the bravery of the men who sat on top of those things.

BTW, did you see Bruce Dern in "Silent Running"?

A bit of an eco-tearjerker, but one of my fave movies.

I think that the hardest thing about being an adult is that...if you aren't careful...you forget how to dream.

I am glad you have preserved that talent. :)

To be a regular here, I think you need a big bit of that in your soul.

Dreams are what keep us sane and dealing with everyday life.If you live out those dreams it makes life harder to live.Live out some of them but not all of them I had the chance to live out a dream I had from childhood then stopped half way thru when I realized that I would never be able to hold that dream again, but instead it becomes a fading memory. Now I have both

I recently watched The Astronaut Farmer too Lilith, personally I loved it. One of my favorite lines was said by Bruce Dern to Billy Bob Thornton. It was to the effect of, what a great father Farmer was, not only did he get his family to eat dinner together, but he had them dreaming together.

Back to the original question at hand, what are my dreams?

One of my dreams is to have a cabin on a river in the woods when I can escape to and write.

Hmmm, I may have to think about this one for a bit. I do have dreams but I'm sort of superstitious about sharing them. The chances that some of them ever come true are long but you just never know.

A. I believe in you Lilith.

B. One of my dreams... meeting someone that's very special to me, halfway or otherwise.

As OF said, my dreams change as time goes by. What I once thought I wanted more than life itself is not something that I would accept if offered. I'm a different man now, and want other things. Sometimes I still sit and wonder what I want to be when I grow up, and there are times when I have a feeling I'm headed towards or away from it. And when I hear the phrase "I'll know it when I see it", I think it doesn't really apply as much as "I saw it and I knew it".

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! What he ^^^ said........PERSONIFIED!

Damn WI...I am in tears over here because of your words!

To be honest Lil...it scares me to "dream". I look back at my past and realize I NEVER EVER dreamed of my present and thought a future was gloom and doom.

Oh crap...this is too deep for me!

I dream of a moment when my love for the loves in my life are understood, believed in and when my child comes to me and shares my heart.

I've had my dreams shattered in the past, more than I'd care to admit. Some have changed, some have not. Someone has entered my life who has gotten me to dare to dream and I only hope that, even if I'm just a friend, I can be by her side for as long as possible and learn as much about her as possible. The fact she's talking to me after being creeped/freaked out by me (she herself admits she's not sure why, but not in a bad way) is a good sign though.
