I just got back from Transformers. I absolutely loved it. We went to the late 10:20 show. The theater was jam packed. When Artimus spoke the entire audience errupted into applause. It was a great way to spend 2.5 hours on a rainy evening.

I want to see this bad!

Ps, Lil... When Artimus spoke the entire audience errupted into applause.
I think you mean Optimus. :p

Yes, that is who I mean. He is a bot and I can't underrstand everything he says. Afterall they gave him lips and he is used to speaking lipless :D

He has lips?

Guess he truly is more than meets the eye... :p

To be honest I have no idea. Kid #1 was prattling on about die hard peeps being upset because OPTIMUS was given lips.

Bumblebee is the Camaro.

I know. But he's supposed to be a VW Bug.

<----- Die hard peep. :p

Well I suppose VW did not pup up the dough that GM obviously did.

Clearly, GM has high hopes that the Transformer generation will all go out & buy Chevys & Pontiacs...the tv ads are repeating every 2 minutes here...

I thought you may have meant Optimus as well...in the ad were he falls on the guy's car, I recognised his voice right away, they got the same voice actor from the old cartoons to do the movie as well...& how does a man my age know all this? #1 son is still a die-hard Transformer fan at 24, so much that he chose to buy fewer packs of cigs so he could go to the movie on the first day...I still have scars from stepping on robot parts...

Yeah, there's some serious product placement, which kinda sucks. Although I have heard rumor that VW did not want any of their cars involved in a war movie, fictitious or otherwise.

Funny, VW didn't have any problem with their cars being involved in a real war at one time... :doorpeek:

I think that has something to do with their current stance... just maybe.:p

We just went yesterday afternoon, and, Lilith, you did not steer us wrong. It was a terrifically exciting movie. I told my wife, made me think it was a little like Die Hard starring an Erector set. (Only some of us will remember the old Erector sets :) ).

We loved it. Our boys want to go see it again.

And, did you see that trailer for "Bad Robot" or whatever it will be called. Looks interesting. Suppose to be out in January, I guess.

Guess what? Transformers are/were the new Erector Set.

Trust me, far too much of what should have been #1 son's college fund ended up in Hasbro's end-of-year statements :banghead:

Just like Lady Penelope's Rolls Royce became a T-Bird in the Thunderbirds, a V-Dub grew into not one, but two Camaros.

I had been primed for this pic also by my children (now grown up).
