Group Upset About Dress Code, Schedules

The next time you fly, your safety could be in the hands of an air traffic controller wearing a dress -- and he's a guy.

Some controllers have been protesting a government dress code, by wearing women's clothing to work. Union spokesman Doug Church said the controllers are showing how ridiculous the regulations are because they don't bar men from wearing dresses. Shorts, jeans, T-shirts and halter tops are on the banned list.

Are they upset because they don't bar men from wearing dresses? :yikes:

Not sure why the dress code was instituted, but lots of places have dress codes and you think that'd be a bargaining issue ... not something as silly as this sounds. Besides, you'd think in this day and age when we worry about terrorism, it might be a good idea to even have uniforms that would be difficult or expensive to duplicate to reduce the chance a terrorist could "sneak" into a control tower and do any damage.

I'm inclined to agree with DB.

I suggest implementing standard uniforms, and since they've obviously spoken out in favor of them...everyone should wear dresses. :D

As long as they're not being distracted by guys wearing halter tops, I guess it's ok by me...
