It was good but only an hour long.
They took a 7 hour concert and compressed it to 1. :(

Managed to catch some of it, but not as much as I'd have liked, because of junior.
Diana was a 'phenomenon' (for want of a better word) very close to my heart, as she hailed from my home town.

Just begun, with (Sir) Elton.

P Diddy's just totally misread the crowd, the dickhead.

I saw it live on VH1. Teddy NBC just did a 1 hour recap. I also thought Kanye starting with Gold Digger was not exactly appropriate.

Oh she had her faults, but she wasn't a gold digger......have you SEEN her family home?! She was already aristocracy, there wasn't really much she could gain....
By the way, did Elton do "Candle in the Wind" in the end?

He did Tiny Dancer and for me that brought an entire other set of memories.

The only Elton song on our broadcast was "Your song" at the beginning.

She did have faults, I know, and her plusses too; I wasn't really having a pop at her, so much as the whole "establishment" thing. Governmental crap is just really getting on my nerves right now.
Re "Candle in the Wind" ~ I'm sure he said at her funeral service he'd never sing it again - I guess he's sticking to it. Maybe the Princes didn't want it either, for similar reasons?!?!

The reason I asked is because actually the boys requested it, but, as you said DM, he vowed never to play it again.
I'm glad he didn't play it too - I don't think he'd have got through it, for a start.

Between the show and the party, Elton had the hugest hissy fit because he wasn't allowed to drive the 180 metres, but had to walk. Police were involved.

Elton is a walking (or should that be driving) hissy fit these days. To be honest, he gets on my nerves and just comes across as a bitter old queen. I think someone needs to nail his feet back down to the ground for a while.
