NEWARK, N.J. — The yearbooks were finally printed and ready to be picked up by students at Newark's East Side High School — but not before some officials snapped open their correcting pens to edit out a picture of two males kissing.

This was not art class, but staff afraid of parental backlash used markers to color over the picture, censoring it from every copy of the 2007 yearbook before distributing it, MyFoxNY.com reports.

Described as "illicit" and provocative by Newark's superintendent of schools, Marion Bolden, the photograph depicts a kiss between 18-year-old Andre Jackson and David Escobales.

Officials blacked out the picture after Russell Garris, the district's assistant superintendent who oversees the city's high schools, said he feared parents would be concerned.

So these "protectors" of the Amurkin way, pulled a Magic Marker from their handy-dandy plastic pocket protectors, and just scribbled over a picture of two guys kissing.WOW,the pic must have been hot enough to melt the scotch tape wrapped around their horn rims.

I think it was St Paul who said, "Tenete traditiones".

Some have misread "Hold fast to the traditions" to read "Set it in concrete and burn on Earth and Hell anyone who thinks a single degree out of the groove.

Sticking with the Biblical allusions, how about “idle hands are the Devil’s tools”?

Exactly!!

They should be used in profitable ways, like keyboard work or sexual manipulation.
