PLEASE SEND THIS OUT TO AS MANY PARENTS WHO HAVE CHILDREN IN SCHOOL
Children's Meth

Checked this on Snopes and it is true...I checked also. Terrible!

http://www.snopes.com/horrors/drugs/candymeth.asp

There is a very scary thing going on in the schools right now that all
need to be aware of. There is a type of crystal meth going around that
looks like strawberry pop rocks. It smells like strawberry also and it
is being handed out to kids in school yards in AR. I'm sure it will
make its way around the country if it hasn't already. Kids are
ingesting this thinking that it is candy and being rushed off to the
E.R. in dire condition.

It also comes in chocolate, peanut butter, cola, cherry, grape and orange ~` it looks just like pop rocks.

Please instruct your children to not accept candy that looks like this
even from a friend and to take any that they may have to a teacher,
principal, etc.

Please pass this around it could save some family a lot of heartache!

That is what they are calling strawberry meth or strawberry quick.

Thought you'd want to know.

Yes, our local police sent out emails to all of the schools in our area about this. There is also a chocolate flavored one as well. From what I gather - this strawberry and chocolate meth not only tastes like the flavor, but smells like it also. This is frustrating law enforcement who rely on drug dogs as the scent is masked by strawberries and chocolate. :( Kids aren't going to be allowed to have anything that smells like candy.

Guys look, not to sound bad or anything but drug dealers are not going to just "give" this shit to kids. They give "samples" to people but they are looking for people to BUY from them and keep them in business. Little Johnny or Susie isn't going to have enough money to support a habit and dealers don't just give drugs away for free forever.

Take it with a grain of salt. Yes, the "candymeth" does exist and YES children MIGHT get their hands on it in some cases, but people are blowing it way out of proportion. The best you as a parent can do is to make SURE your kids aren't getting into the wrong sort of thing.

Also, drug dogs can smell the dope whether it smells like strawberries or grapes or anything else.

Cherry...darlin I agree with you to a certain point. But you dont understand just yet. Yes you are a mommie and all but once they grow a little bit you need to know alot to keep ahead of the game.

Working for the local Police Department we see alot of kids younger and younger getting into trouble and drugs. so this is just like a PSA...just to let you know type of thing.

Dont worry the time will come when you will worry about you little baby walking to the bus for the first time. Or going and staying at grandma's for the first time over night.

Once a child has found the taste for drugs no matter what age, they will find a way to afford it.....er pay for it.

She's right Cherrypie - when you've sat for an hour, nursing your little one and pondering your 'plan of action' should you fall down the stairs/slip into a coma/get sent to jail while your little one is still taking your milk and all of a sudden the idea of your husband marrying your sister should you shuffle off this mortal coil seems like the BEST idea in the world, you'll realise why things like this are terrifying and why parents need to know about them.

Yes, we know the odds and everything, but similiarly the risk of SIDS is a very small one too, but it won't stop you being paranoid about the room being too hot etc.

When your little one arrives in the world, you'll suddenly be left with this pang of pain, that s/he is no longer as safe and protected from the ills of the world as when s/he was inside you. Chances are, the rest of your life will be spent worrying about them as soon as they're out of your sight.

Unfortunately, this is a very real threat and I was waiting for this to happen. Why give them tastes of crack or meth that tastes like crap or give them a high on something that tastes good. I have already read so many police reports on these kids as they do think it is candy....they get buzzed and want more candy.....so sad!

Luckily, meth hasn't really hit Scotland yet. I suppose there is some, but not much, and I've never heard of it in Aberdeen. It seems it costs more here than in the states though.

I've been watching documentaries about meth on daily motion, and god damn it's scary stuff.

Heroin seems to be the biggest problem here, and it's scary enough.

In southern california this has become a horrid plague. With our proxcimity to mexico there has always been a robust drug trade. What makes this so incidious is this particular drug mix to targeted at teens and pre - teens.

I am pretty liberal but DEATH to drug dealers!!!

okay I will calm down now....

Just to let you know, the snopes website updated recently, and said they haven't found any actual incidents of it being handed out to kids. (so far)
But even though it hasn't yet happened, I know the potential is there.

I think it takes a particular kind of evil to make such drugs that are presumably aimed at children.

I was remembering when I was a little, Mama always warned me about taking candy from strangers... fear of being lured away and molested, even murdered.
How odd this would come full circle in such an awful, twisted, sick way...
