Women: Dirty 30's?

So I've been talking with a few female friends and they all say that they've seen their libido ramp up as they've gotten further into their 30's. I'll be 31 in a few months...and it took me a while to get off of the line...but I can say that this trend is true for me as well!

Any other Pixies have experiences with the same thing? When does this all-consuming trend stop? (If you tell me never, then I am buying stock in sex toys).

Mrs. WI seemed to open up a lot more sexually around 44. Enough to comment to others that she feels like she's in her sexual prime. She's always enjoyed sex while we were having it, but didn't ever really put much priority on it. She still doesn't often crave it, but has started to take the lead a little more often. Then again, she teases a lot too.

Any theories on what causes the "dirty thirties"? I have always assumed that by the time a woman hit her thirties she had unloaded a lot of the bullshit she was fed as a teen about the difference between "good girls" and "bad girls". And once they let go of that baggage they were/are able to enjoy their sexuality more.

I think it's a hormonal thing.....most of the women I know of that kind of age weren't fed the 'good girl/ bad girl' bull, yet most have told me they became even more sexual than before when they hit 30.

Of course, general confidence and less of a fear of pregnancy (i.e. it wouldn't be the end of the world to get preggers, even if single) may make women more confident and demanding sexually.

Then again, perhaps it's women's bodies trying to get them pregnant before it's 'too late'.....

I believe that with me (maybe not so many others) I was trying to hard to please others. Doing what they like, what they wanted, waiting for them to make the moves and all that bull.

Now being in my 30's I am more into pleasing me. I know what I like, I know what I want and I know I can get it and NOT AFFRAID TO ASK. I have the confidence to try the things I have always wanted to.

They dont like it so what? Life is to short. We realize this once we age a bit.

But that is just me.

Lou pretty much summed up my theory of how it works, I also had an idea about many women at thirty have already been thru the birthing process, which Erma Bombeck said removed all her sense of modesty ;) but that wouldn't explain the urges of women who haven't yet been down the motherhood road.

My wife went wild during her 30's & early 40's as well, I would say she did help boost the stock prices in the adult toy industry...unfortunately, as the "change" took over, the fire seems to have died down a bit :tear:

to me it was my early to mid fortys. My ex hubby was threaten by toys so no need at the time .. plus boring. Hubby now doesn't mind them at all.. Thank goodness.

I am going throught the "Change " now and has made no difference i still like my toys.

Here's my thoughts (((((osuche)))))...

When I was young, I mean really young (14-20), I was scared and learning. I wasn't sexually educated enough to know all the consequences and I wasn't savvy enough to realize the magical experience. I dabbled in everything asked of me. I made the biggest mistake of not learning myself before trying to please others. I got pregnant. That's when fear set in and I shut down for a while.

In essence it's experience and self awareness that's leads us to break out! Hormones play a monor role cause I think they've always been there but I didn't know how to read them.

Once we know, love and respect ourselves I think we can "break free". Woman are inherent nurturerers and no one has taught us to nurture ourselves above others.

So as I grew, so too did my sexual appetite! I am 49 now and it was about in my 30's when I "got it". I can read my body like a book. I don't (yet) feel any downslide and I'm looking forward to my 50's.

You should bump this post in about 3-5 years and I'll get back to you then!

I've always had a fairly high libido but it is definitely gotten better the older I get. I plan to fight off losing it for as long as possible.
