they exhaust themselves to light the way for others.

no-one knows who said it, but it's true.

we've got a few teachers here at pixies and it's teacher appreciation week here in the states so i thought i'd take a moment to express my gratitude to all the teachers out there who sacrifice their time, open their hearts, prove their patience, share their wisdom, and unfold their arms every day just to make sure our kids get the same love and guidance at school that they get at home - and sometimes more than they ever get at home. not only do you do this for a pittance - and often in exchange for a bad attitude, and to an unappreciative audience - rarely do you even get to see the results of your hard, loving work 'cause it takes a good 15 years for all the real lessons - the life lessons - to finally sink in.

thanks teach, we love you.

Yep, we do love ya teach!

I still talk with some of my high school teachers to this day and it's amazing the things I've found I learned from them that weren't in the lesson plans.

I always say, as an ESE teacher, my job is to make myself unnecessary

Never, just no longer absolutely neccessary each and every minute.

I was raised in Vermont up til 8 years old. I attended a one room school house in 1st and 2nd grade. There were 30 children, grades 1 - 6. I was the only 1st grader and the following year the only 2nd grader. I have no idea what Mrs Black was paid but it was probably no where near enough! I don't remember what she looked like but I do remember how smart she made me feel, the self-confidence she instilled and she smelled good. lol, odd thing to remember I guess.

I had many good teachers after her, a few great ones and a one who never should have been a teacher. But all of them helped make me who I am .....

Thank you to all teachers everywhere who put up with both the good kids and bad, the smart ones and those needing help, and thank you for your unending patience and encouragement. You are fantastic!!
