Every summer has had and will continue to have its good share of blockbuster SFX-laden popcorn movies, but I can't remember a summer where every ding-dong month has something significant dropping virtually EVERY WEEK.

It used to be like, one or two really big shits that drop early and keep running the duration of summer. Then your parents would take you to go see it after making you suffer through being "good." After you saw it, your summer was officially made and you were happy, grooving off the vibes from seeing it.

Now, it's like...smorgasbord! And it's almost nothing BUT third-time sequels! I dunno if my inner child can HANDLE this summer! And it all starts tomorrow (as of this writing):

MAY
Spider-Man 3 - May 4
Shrek The Third - May 18
28 Weeks Later - May 18
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - May 25

JUNE
Ocean's Thirteen - June 8
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer - June 15
Live Free or Die Hard - June 29

JULY
Transformers - July 4
Harry Potter and the Order of The Pheonix - July 13
The Simpsons Movie - July 27

AUGUST
Rush Hour 3 - August 10
The Invasion - August 17

These are just the confirmed certified official summer heat. Not counting the indie and sleepers that'll be making noise, like Knocked Up (June 1).

I can't wait till Pirates 3. Might have to dress-up for that one and play hooky from work and all that!

I'll probably catch Spidey this weekend or next. Can't wait for Shrek and the next Harry Potter. Learned last time that Pirates is much, much better on the big screen so I'll probably take that one in and maybe even Ocean's Thirteen.

I don't recall the name of it but I saw a preview for one with Adam Sandler and Kevin James where they pose as a gay couple in order to get health benefits at work, that looks pretty funny. Then again, I may just want to see Jessica Biel in her panties. Yeah, like I'm fooling anybody. I may want to see her in her panties.

Is "Live Free or Die Hard" another Die Hard sequel? If so, I'm sure I'll have to take in that one too.

Iowa: That Sandler and James joint you're talking about is called I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (July 20). Steve Buscemi, Ving Rhames and Dan Aykroyd are in it, too.

And yeah, "Live Free or Die Hard" is pretty much "Die Hard 4".

Spidey and Shrek are givens, but I just fuckin' GOTS to see "Pirates!" Both parts one and two were nothing but absolute F.U.N., even if some people (who are way too fuckin' serious for life) were complaining that the second one had too many plot twists and was just one long joke done over and over again.

I don't give a shit. Ever since the Star Wars, LOTR and Matrix trilogies wrapped up, I haven't had a movie take me AWAY somewhere for a long time, you know? That's what the Pirates movies did for me...and I'm gonna be the first in line to see that fucker! :line:

The only thing I hate about seeing good stuff here is that some people are assholes when it comes to using or opening their fucking cellphones, Treos and Blackberrys during the movie. It's like every fucking time someone just HAS to let their shit ring out loud or open it up to check a mail or text message and the screen is like a lighthouse beacon in the dark...after the disclaimer message shown before the trailers tells idiots to be considerate of others. No such luck here! I have to see things at certain times at certain theaters to avoid the fools' rush.

Will definitely will seeing Pirates opening weekend!

Still not sure what to do about The Transformers. They are near and dear to me as I loved them when I was a kid. But it's a Michael Bay film. Ugh! Some of what I've seen in the trailers I have liked. Some I have not liked. I am not real fond of the new look either. I guess it will depend on what I'm doing and if I have the money.

I saw Spidey already. Good, but my least favorite of the three.

I'll be going to see Pirates definately, I loved the first one - Johnny Depp is absolutely brilliant. But, and I'm sorry to be a pain here guys, there are some bad bits of the second that could have beeen avoided Still... Johnny Depp's still in there somewhere, and I'm sure it'll keep me thoroughly amused from start to finish.
