I love going to the drive in movie. My wife and I have always been big movie buffs but after having our daughter we couldn't go as much as we used to. Two summers ago we found two drive ins with an hours drive and it's been a God send.

Two movies for $7, and you can take in your own food. Though I always buy some stuff from the concession stand to help keep them in business.

So if you're interested in the joys of the drive in, check out this LINK! (http://www.driveintheater.com/drivlist.htm) It has listings of every state and the former and currently operating drive ins around the country.

EDIT: There's also listing for our Aussie friends. Sorry Brits. :(

That's a great link Jude30. :thumb:

I'm fortunate to live only about 20 miles away from one of the three that are still operating in Iowa.

:D :thanks: J30

What a neat site. :) (a LOT of memories just reading the closed ones ;) )

I'm surprised to see 2 are still operating right in the area and a half dozen more within an hours drive.

GOOD find!

I've got to check the map. Some smaller towns have them in area codes that should be reasonably close. I miss drive-in movies. They were fun in the summer.

Thanks for the "link" ... neat site.

Only one in RI -- I knew it was there but somehow we never get to it. This summer maybe! They are alot of fun.

When I was 1st married we had an apt. that was next to a drive-in. We could see the screen from the upstairs bathroom. lol. Could read lips a little but not enough. The XXX ones of course it didn't really matter. :D That one is long gone.
