Years and years ago (almost 20), I knew of this guy. I didn't know him personally, but I had seen him and knew what some of my friends had to say about him. Based on this, I had a certain amount of disdain for this man, and little respect.

Right now I am holding back tears as I have just found out his medical condition, which had gone into remission, has brought him all to close to the end.

About 11 years ago the man I refer to came to work at the company I work for, and not that long after I started working here. It wasn't long before I started to get to know him. Not so long after that, I began to respect him. Before I knew it, I was calling him 'my friend', when talking to other people.

He is a good man. He is a good friend. I pray that this is not his time.

I would appreciate any thoughts or prayers my Pixies family could send for him and his family.

(((Aqua))) I too will keep your friend in prayers. Also I am glad that you got to *KNOW* the man and you can call him your friend, instead of listening to what other people think about him or say about him.

I also like the fact that you got to know him instead of letting it go the other way. You've no doubt given him the same thing he's given you in the gift of real friendship. Hope he gets better.
