A long-term reptilian friend of mine died yesterday. I find myself kinda creeped out by both the death itself, and my reaction to it.

See, I never met the iguana or the iguana's owner ftf, although I had many IM, chat sessions, and e-mail exchanges with the owner.

And today, I'm realizing that I'm reacting to this death pretty much they same way I reacted to a (human) friend dying back in December.

Kind of creeped me out, when I realized that meant that I really had connected to the iguana, whom I only really heard about, to the same degree that I had connected with a person I occasionally hung around with.

The whole thing has me just...ug.

And it shows that in both cases you really care. Sorry to hear about the loss of both your friends.

I agree with my fine finned friend above.

It's nice to see that people care...for more than just themselves and the other members of their species.

Awwwwwww (((((gg)))))...I can feel your pain in your words.

I'm sorry for your sense of loss! It's gotta be especially difficult that you can't physically reach out and share in the loss of the iguana via a memorial and exchanging hugs and personal memories. I can understnd how that could play with your head a bit.

Rest assured...you aren't a nut! Who's to say what is normal in the mourning process. A mighty oak can grow from a tiny seed. Your long distance feelings are large no matter that your face to face time was nil.

Embrace your sensitivity. It's a wonderful tribute to the friend[s] you lost!

My thoughts are with you!

A friend has to be human and proximate?

I missed that memo.

I missed that memo.

Me too.

gg, sorry for your loss. Hang in there, and we're here if you need.
