What's up with this??

What is up with people joining sites like Pixies and then starting a new topic that are nothing but basically SPAM links to other sites?

Yesterday, there was a post in the Erotic story catagory that was a link to another site, and today there is another link very similar.

There is a golf forum that I am a member of, where new members are joining and listing Porn spam, and now we've got a similar issue.

Are there people that do nothing all day but go around joining forums such as Pixies, and entering spam links? Are they getting paid to do so? if so, where can I sign up, since I can use the money.

yup...i saw them too...no clue why but the mod's usually nip that shit in the bud PDQ.

It help our mods get straight to the posts from the people that think we are an ad agency and I know one of our mods has a BIG ax that she loves to swing on occasions. :D

It's the same on a few other sites I go on, one spammer keeps re-joining and sending the same PMs to people with the same nasty links in them. I mod on one of the sites where it's been a bad problem and we've had to temporarily ban some e-mail addresses from joining - usually googlemail or gmail ones. It sucks, I guess as some people are genuinely using those addresses to join, but there seems no other solution atm.
