Well since I can't shut up about my delicious little bundle of joy, I thought that I should perhaps have a specific thread in which to keep anyone who's interested updated on his progress.
So, to kick off, yesterday he was 10 weeks old and to mark the occasion he slept through the night for the 7th night in a row, has moved out of the Moses basket into his big cot and, most excitingly, can now hold a rattle on his own if I place into his hands. Admittedly he lets go after a minute or so, but he will take it to his mouth and wave it about while looking at it. It's amazing to see how he's making sense of the world more and more....I'm just so proud of him!

My sister refers to him as 'My child genius' as she's convinced that he's more advanced than every other baby out there, because he's had such great head control since birth, and my mother swears she'd never seen a baby as alert as he was on the day he was born, but I put that down to a short labour and no narcotic meds.
As for me, I don't care whether he's smarter or cuter than any other child....he's the only one that's ours and that's what counts.
Oh by the way, make that 8 nights in a row now. :)

Hahaha! I think it's pretty common actually from what other mothers have told me......and of course he's the best baby ever but not because of that, just because he's mine!

at least you know what you're in for. :D
i wouldn't trade my son's energy (even if it means i'm beat by 8pm), curiosity(even if it means that i've already called poison contol a billion times), ingenuity(even if it means an average of 5 emergency room visits a year) or craziness(even though it makes me crazy, too) for anything.

Well once again we had a good night's sleep last night and today I took him into work to talk to my boss about returning, and she was the only person who got a smile out of him. He evidently knows how to turn on the charm and who to turn it on to! LOL

LOL @ PF - that's funny!
Well baby pucker is just doing better and better. Today we've been singing and dancing for the last hour or so - usually he gets fidgety after about 30 minutes of playing on the floor, but I noticed he seemed more cheerful when the music came on TV, so I switched over to one of the non-stop music channels and spent the time singing along and dancing, using one of his rattles as a tambourine and he happily watched me and flapped his arms and legs about along with me. Was great for me to be enjoying the music and dancing (one of my favourite things in the world to do) and for him to find it entertaining too. Bliss.
Oh and that makes the 11th night on the trot that he's slept through the night! He's doing about 8 hours in a stretch now. :D

Well, Mummy Pucker, Daddy Pucker and Baby Pucker are all still doing well.
Mummy and Daddy have just joined the gym so that we can take Baby Pucker swimming to a nice clean pool that's close to us with free parking, but while Daddy was out last night filling in the paperwork, Baby Pucker rolled over for the first time! It was so exciting and I'm so glad I got to see it, but I felt awful that Daddy missed it. The funny thing is, little one, who is usually quite a serious baby (you're honoured if you get a smile from him) absolutely laughed like a drain after he'd done it. I think he was amused by the expression of absolute wonder on his Mummy's face!

Oh fuck! I've changed my mind! I've changed my mind! I don't want a child who's going to turn out like THAT! LMAO
Ya know I love ya Belial!
Today, I discovered that he can actually sit up with no support momentarily too! His balance is still not great so he does tend to fall over pretty soon, but he can definitely do it! I couldn't believe my eyes.

He's only 3 months old, so it's going to be a while, but then he shouldn't be anywhere close to sitting up yet either!
Apparently his Daddy walked at 10 months though, so....eek!

We took him swimming yesterday, and I fully expected him to scream the place down either as soon as he hit the water or as soon as he came out, but bless him he was as good as gold the whole time - the only time he cried was when trying to get him back into the car seat to take him home!

That little fella is making some serious progress. I'm thinking Auntie Neige may end up giving me swimming lessons before Baby Pucker. Sounds like he's already more comfortable in the water than I am.

Yay Baby Pucker!!!!!!! :D
Did you duck him yet? :D
Loulabelle
03-05-2007, 02:45 AM
Not yet Neige - I'm going to do that when Daddy's not with us as Daddy's not great with water and I think he might freak out if I start submerging his son!
As for me, I love the water and JR tends to take his cue from me - if I'm happy he's happy which is why our trip was so successful, I think. Can't wait to go again!

My little man has a tooth!
Daddy discovered it while being gently chewed this afternoon - I haven't even seen it yet, since he's not keen on me trying to have a look, but it feels very sharp and spikey!
May go some way to explaining why the little fellow has been in such a grouchy mood this past week or so!
