Night time surprises (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=aiaqef.ojV.8&refer=us) have to be a bitch.
.....`Complete Devastation'
At least fourteen deaths in Lake County, west of Orlando, have been tied to the storm, and emergency workers are still clearing debris and conducting search and rescue operations, said Chris Patton, spokesman for the county's emergency operations center. It wasn't clear how many people were injured when the storm shredded a 20-square-mile (52-square-kilometer) section of the county.
``There's complete devastation down here,'' he said. ....
Mother nature isn't playing nice in the middle of the night. Again... a reminder that that all we have is NOW and each other.
We have a LOT of Pixies in the penis of this country and hope they all are safe and sound.
[A notice about our maps (http://www.pixies-place.com:81/forums/showthread.php?t=21983&highlight=civil+defense) to the many new members that have come to be part of a group that cares very much about one another.]

Had to call my mother up last night, and check. She's in Orange county, one of the ones next to Volusia county. IOW, she's OK, but it was close.
I do also have an aunt in Volusia county, which I was unaware of...thought she was also in Orange county.
Fortunately, although it was even closer, the tornado(es) missed her, too.
Woah. :faint:

When I read that on the news yesterday I was worried about all our Pixies.

I have a sister who lives in New Smyrna Beach and have not hear anything yet. But with all the damage getting a call in or out is probable not an easy thing do.

You know with 13 Pixies in Florida, that might be a spot to consider for PAGAN08. Hmmmm. See, Lil's house wasn't a bad idea. :D

My sisters family is fine, a little damage to the home but it is livable. Sorry I did not get back sooner.

We're glad to hear that SC. :cabbagep:
It seems all our Pixies are on both sides of Sumter, Lake and Volusia counties, where the damage was done. I'm assuming we would have heard by now if any of them had family or friends in the area. :nana:
We do still have one old coot capitalist that is 'wintering' :rolleyes2 down there some place, that hasn't checked since his last post the day before. He BETTER let us know he's ok or we'll have to find somebody else to pick on. :gb:

I got a PM from PF,saying that I have been asked about & should check-in.
We are in W.Melbourne & the tonadoes didn't touch us.They have been having a cold spell here, but I guess that I shouldn't bitch. My wife called one
of our daughters in NH,& it was 7degrees there. My sugars went crazy here before.I have Diabetes & I keep my sugars under control, mostly,by exercise.
I have a Bowflex,in NH,& workout nightly.I finally bought one here & now have much better control of my sugars! Irish
P.S.People ask me-You're 62(almost 63),why do you still work out nightly?
I tell them-Because I'm not dead yet.I'm too old to enter any Bodybuilding
contests but it keeps my bloodsugar & bloodpressure lower.

When you reply,to this or any thread, that I'm on,the answer goes to my
website,at Metrocast,where I originally joined Pixies from.I access their
website,on the web,to check my mail.I'm suprised that my mail still goes
there, because they were called & told to suspend Metrocast, during my
absence.I have joined the Yahoo website now & probably won't pick up
Metrocast,when I get back,because it is to expensive.Now that, my wife &
I,are both retired, money is alot tighter.Especially with two residences!
My wife likes it here,& I prefer NH,so selling one is very doubtful.May 1st,we
will be married for (approx) 42(?) or 43(?)yrs.We were married in 1965.I'm
not to good at math & I'm getting old(but not dead)! Irish :bs:

My math says this should be year 42...
...& when your wife figures out you can't keep track of the anniversary, that "not dead yet" may be in jeopardy ;)

wedding? Irish

Irish,
Fear of the shit you cop if you forget THE date keeps it strong in most memories.
Forgetting it is a sign you've given up on the marriage, even just a little bit.

Or was that given up on living?

I wouldn't venture a guess at how many...
I only know the consequences of this guy ever forgetting the date are not to be trifled with...
