....that junior has slept through the night! We can't get him to sleep between the hours of 7pm and 9.30pm for love nor money, but to be sleeping through the night at 7 1/2 weeks, we must be doing something right!

:D :D :D

Isn't it great?

My first was hell from about 4-8 but he slept the rest of the night. By 2.5 months he slept from 7 pm-9 am for the first 2 years. Heaven. He's making up for that now at 15 :D

Our aim is to get him to go from 7 to 7, but he just seems to be in a bad habit of keeping himself awake in the evenings. We're wondering if it's because there's the added stimulation of Daddy being home at 5 o'clock which is when our bedtime routine starts - maybe he just wants some playtime with Daddy whom he clearly adores.

Sounds like you're getting something right there Lou. :thumb:

Not to worry. There are 6.570 (10^9) babies that have worked it out. ;)

Not true - I know plenty of toddlers who refuse to go to bed and rather jump about the living room until they drop at about 10pm. I'm not having that!

Lou, IMO you are VERY LUCKY PEOPLE!! Most folk we spoke to when R was born said when she started sleeping through from 9p.m.-6a.m. we were jammy b*st*rds!!! She was about 6 weeks when it happened first, and was routine inside a fortnight. Make the most of it!!

(Oh - does that mean you get some sleep now too - or is Fussy "up and at 'em", if you'll pardon the expression?!?! If so....... :wtp: )

I am so happy that things are going good for you guys. My oldest son didn't sleep through the night until he was TWO YEARS OLD! LOL

Hehehe - make that 4th night in a row now! And once again he slept through the evening too.....if things carry on as well as this, I'm thinking his teenage years are going to be dreadful just to make up for it!

Well he's had me up feeding again for the last two nights, so I'm not sure what's going on! Maybe he was just so sleep deprived from all the evenings of not sleeping that he just didn't stir and now he's getting his recommended hours again he wakes enough to realise he's hungry.

Either that or he's not taking enough food at the 10.30 feed.

Or he's getting a bit chilly in the night.

Or waking up in the night is just what babies his age do. :)

I agree with the latter. Babies are not precision time pieces. How often do we eat/sleep at exactly the same time and the exact same amount?
