warning about a potential problem with a username

Hey everyone

This is just a quick heads up for you all. I moderate on another internet forum and we've had our attention drawn to a user named 'kaneweber' who has been joining random internet forums recently.

This person doesn't post on the forums but will select random forum users and send them malicious Personal Messages which either contain a malicious message or a malicious link to a site which will infect your PC with a virus. The PM will be titled 'New Year' or something similar - sometimes the titles will have relgious references in them

The advice being given is that if this user joins and sends a message to you, do not under any circumstances open it, delete it and inform the mods/admins of the incident.

If you click a link from someone on the internet who you do not know you are asking for a problem. There is no way for a PM from Pixies to hurt your system unless you go somewhere else (via a link) that has some sort of malware etc. Even then the chance of anything serious getting in your system that can't be removed via spybot or any other spyware removal program, is very slim. The worst scenario is that you go to a site and enter a password to say yahoo or hotmail or ebay. Again. Don't click links from people you do not know.
