I sit here in tears knowing someone I have secretly admired for years is dying. I patterned my own little (itsy-bitsy, teensy-weensy by comparison) Xmas tradition after his. Here (http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/local/16023431.htm) is the story. Be sure to look at the slide show.

I read this story the other day. It's very inspiring.

I just saw his pic flashed via CNN as I was passing a store & thought it might be on Pixies. I thought it'd be a good story & it is. Unbelievable. He kinda reminded me of WI, too. :)

It's sad that he needed protection. (In 1989 some people chased his car after seeing the cash he carried.)

I was walking up Bay St. the other night & saw an older man lying on a sidewalk grate rolling what looked like no tobacco into a rolling paper. I passed him five or six cigarettes & the look on his face & the way he raised his arm in a goodbye still brings tears to my eyes.

I've spent so much time recently being horrified by the greed of our society...yet now I am humbled.

Sometimes I just wish the good stuff was a little closer to the surface.

I live in the KC area and have wondered for years who the Secret Santa is. He was going to be interviewed on NPR the other day and I missed it somehow.

This sucks.

I gave a guy on the street corner $20 today...I was thinking about this story, about how lucky I am, and about how little I give back.

When the guy looked up at me in surprise, I just blew him a kiss. :)

What a truly remarkable story. One man, making a difference, one person at a time.

Here's another (http://www.suitedforchange.org/financial-donations.html) really good concept put into action.

The saddest part is that the virtue he displayed should be all around us. He more illustrates it's general loss, not a random resurgence.
