I see you have been paying attention to the republican propaganda machine. If you are making over 200,000 a year then yes but lower than no. I hardly consider 200,000 a year a fixed income. And guess why? Because of the idiot in office and his republican chronies that have ran the budget into the ground.

rzande1,
You would do well to examine the voting record of all the members of the House. You may be surprised to discover that the spending bills were not decided by party line votes

In my state we voted to give disabled vets and low income senors twice the homestead exemptions!
Scarecrow,
I'm sorry you are disappointed in the results of the election. Some of us feel exactly opposite. I am all for raising taxes if they do so to make the tax base more equitable.

Of course I do. All liberals want the gay terrorists to win when they are not busy raising taxes and encouraging abortions.:D
It failed Jseal. Too bad my county was not as generous as my state was.

Lilith,
Be patient. Change takes time. Here in Maryland, the legislature passed a Health Care bill, overrode the Governor’s veto, but then the bill was shot down by the Court of Appeals. The next session may have more luck.

If that was the case I would be all for raising taxes. But I do not trust politicains to use the money for the right causes, just more home town pork barrel spending. In Illinois the govenor and his Chicago pals have dipped into the teachers and other state employees retirement funds to pay for their pet projects. The teachers now have to pay about three times as much for their health insurance on less retirement pay.
